Hi there,
This new problem I have started facing after I rolled back Kaspersky WKS from build 1071 to build 1015.
WMP has completely stopped working. It just does not open up. I tried exiting the KAV but still no effect.
VLC and Media player classic seems to be working fine. I do not know what to do. Need some help.
The reason I had to revert back to the older build of KAV WKS is because the recent update was causing KAV to freeze my computer.
If any suggestions regarding AV prog please do let me know.
Thank you.

It seems like you are encountering issues with Windows Media Player (WMP) after rolling back Kaspersky Workstation Security (KAV WKS) from build 1071 to build 1015. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem with WMP: 1. Reset Windows Media Player - Sometimes, resetting Windows Media Player can help resolve issues. Here's how you can do it: - Press Win + R to open the Run dialog. - Type appwiz.cpl and press Enter to open the Programs and Features window. - In the left pane, click on "Turn Windows features on or off." - Locate "Media Features" and uncheck the box next to Windows Media Player. - Click OK and restart your computer. - After restarting, repeat the process and re-enable Windows...

Check Default Settings - Ensure that Windows Media Player is set as the default media player on your system: - Go to Settings > System > Default apps. - Look for the "Video player" and "Music player" settings and make sure Windows Media Player is selected. 3. Reinstall Windows Media Player - If resetting doesn't work, you can reinstall Windows Media Player: - Press Win + R to open the Run dialog. - Type appwiz.cpl and press Enter. - Click on "Turn Windows features on or off." - Uncheck Windows Media Player. - Restart your system. - Repeat the process and re-enable Windows Media Player. 4. Update Kaspersky Workstation Security - Ensure that you have the latest updates for Kaspersky Workstation Security. Updating to the latest version may also help resolve compatibility issues with other software. 5. Alternative Media Players - Since VLC and Media Player Classic are working fine, you can continue using them as alternatives for media playback. If the issue persists, let me know, and we can explore further troubleshooting steps or alternative solutions.
