Sorry for the vague heading, and I anot even sure if I can explaint he problem but i will try.

I play a game called Eve - its an online space game (sad I know but hey ho). the game can play in full screen mode or windowed mode. I have to play in windowed mode as i have dual screens and if you are in full screen mode and click your mouse outside the game - it minimises (it does this in XP and Vista).

The issue i have is that both my screens run at 1680 x 1050, now in Vista i can also run Eve at 1680 x 1050 - I move the window conatining Eve so that the window boarders are offscreen and that way I can see everything i need to see ingame. in Windows 7 - when i try to move the window so the boarders are off screen - they just bounce back once i let go of my mouse.

Is there a way to stop this happening, or am i just being a complete n00b

thanks in advance for any help

Andy

Solution
Andy, it seems like you're encountering a common issue related to window positioning in Windows 7 when playing Eve in windowed mode on dual screens. This behavior where windows bounce back when you try to move them off screen is due to a feature in Windows 7 that prevents windows from being completely moved off-screen. Here are a few suggestions that might help you with your setup: 1. Borderless Windowed Mode: Some games offer a borderless windowed mode option that allows you to play in a window without borders. This can be helpful for dual-screen setups as it prevents the window from bouncing back when moved off-screen. 2. Third-Party Tools: You can also consider using third-party tools that help manage window positioning...

Third-Party Tools: You can also consider using third-party tools that help manage window positioning and allow for more control over window placement and sizing. Tools like "DisplayFusion" or "WindowGrid" may offer features that can address your issue. 3. Compatibility Settings: You can try adjusting compatibility settings for the Eve application. Right-click on the shortcut or executable for Eve, go to Properties, and under the Compatibility tab, you can experiment with settings like "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" or "Run this program in compatibility mode for" to see if it helps with window positioning. 4. Window Management Software: Another option is to use window management software that provides advanced features for handling window positioning and resizing on multiple monitors. Programs like "DisplayFusion" or "GridMove" might provide the functionality you need. By exploring these options, you may find a solution that allows you to position the Eve window the way you want across your dual screens without it bouncing back. If you need further assistance with any of these options, feel free to ask!
