I was using google chrome and it made my pc slow. Then i shifted to Torch, even it is also using a lot of memory. I have currently Adblock, Block Alert Popups, Espn Cricinfo, FB photozoom extenions installed on this browser. Why does this happen? How to solve it?

Disable all your extensions except adblock and see if it makes a difference. It shouldn't be hard to do. And you may also want to run a Malwarebyte scan.
