tried to open the file in MS Project 2007 and got an error says: "an unexpected error has Occurred while opening the file The file may be corrupted Try to use the backup . . .
Has anyone encountered this error ?

If it's any file then I'd try repairing Office, otherwise if it's just a single or handful of files they are likely corrupted.
