My windows 8.1 had an update today, but it's been on step 3 of 5 for 2.5 hours now. Just a big update or should I turn it off and restart?

Try and wait it out if you can. Do you have big drives with lot's on them? Also do you know which update it is exactly?

No it's a laptop I just got yesterday. I'm not sure exactly which update. Currently on the phone with Microsoft support
