📎 AI Summary:
The user reports severe speed drops and frequent website disconnections on one Wi-Fi 6 network with an Intel AX200, while other networks work normally, and asks whether security software may be responsible. The reply says the router or internet service may be more likely than a general adapter fault, but the cause is unknown; it requests connection and driver details, router and other-device behavior, and clarification about the security package. Overall, the exchange is cautious and focused on gathering evidence before recommending changes.

My internet is extremely slow. There's a problem with my Wi-Fi 6 5GHz 160MHz (2x2) connection; the speed drops from Mbps to Kbps, making it very slow. I can use other Wi-Fi 6 5GHz connections without any problems, and the internet is fast, but now I'm experiencing frequent disconnections on all websites. Could it be an issue with my security package installation?

My specifications:
Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX200 160MHz (AX3000 dual-band)
Gigabyte A520M K V2
Ryzen 5 5500GT
16GB RAM
Windows 11 26H2 : OS version 26300.9711

Hi @nayphethaythxngs — because your AX200 works well on other Wi-Fi networks, the problem may involve this router’s connection or internet service, rather than a general adapter failure. A security update or security suite is another possibility, but the cause is not confirmed.

Check the connection first

  1. While connected to the affected network, open Terminal and run these read-only commands:
    Code:
    netsh wlan show interfaces
    Get-CimInstance Win32_PnPSignedDriver |
      Where-Object { $_.DeviceName -match 'AX200' } |
      Select-Object DeviceName, DriverVersion, DriverDate
  2. Paste the results here. Remove your SSID, BSSID, MAC address, and any other identifying details before posting. The signal, channel, and transmit/receive rates will help distinguish a Wi-Fi link slowdown from an internet slowdown.
  3. Please also tell us:
    • What is the router model, and do other devices become slow on that same network?
    • By “security package,” do you mean a Windows update or third-party antivirus/security software?
    • When did the issue begin? If it followed a Windows update, provide its KB number from Settings → Windows Update → Update history.
    • During a slowdown, does Windows actually disconnect from Wi-Fi, or remain connected while websites stop loading?
The adapter’s “160MHz” name describes its capability, not necessarily the channel width currently in use. Let’s verify the connection before recommending changes.
