Ask4Support has launched an AI Readiness service aimed at organisations that want to introduce tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude without creating a new data-security or compliance problem.
The Oxfordshire managed service provider announced the offering on July 29, saying it will assess practical AI use cases, help select suitable tools, and establish the governance, security controls and user-adoption plans needed before deployment. The announcement was distributed through ResponseSource on behalf of Ask4Support.
For Windows-focused IT teams, the service is positioned less as an AI procurement exercise and more as a guardrail around the systems employees already use. That matters most where Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Chat, Azure-hosted AI services and third-party generative AI tools could access business documents, email, Teams content or sensitive customer data.

Ask4Support says its work will focus on making AI deployments secure, fit for purpose and aligned with an organisation’s objectives. In practice, that should mean examining identity and access controls, data classification, retention policies, approved tenant boundaries, supplier terms and the extent to which users can paste information into public AI services.
The distinction is important. An organisation can enable a generative AI assistant in minutes, but deploying it responsibly often requires far more groundwork: validating Microsoft 365 permissions, cleaning up overshared SharePoint sites, defining acceptable-use policies and deciding which data must never be exposed to external models.
Simon Bayley, Ask4Support’s managing director, said the service is intended to cut through AI hype and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, customer experience and growth while making security and governance a priority from day one.

The MSP Opportunity Is in Implementation, Not Just Licensing

The launch reflects a broader shift for managed service providers. AI vendors are making assistants easier to buy and activate, but customers still need help turning broad capabilities into controlled workflows that can withstand security review and regulatory scrutiny.
That can include:
  • Establishing a register of approved AI tools and defining who can authorize new ones.
  • Reviewing whether existing Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Purview and endpoint-management policies are ready for Copilot-era data access.
  • Training employees to distinguish between safe internal use and shadow AI use involving unapproved consumer accounts.
  • Measuring whether a pilot produces a real operational benefit before expanding licences across the business.
Ask4Support, founded in 2011, provides managed IT, cyber security, cloud and consultancy services to public- and private-sector clients. Its new service places AI adoption alongside that existing security and technology-management work rather than treating it as a standalone chatbot project.
For organisations already considering Copilot or other enterprise AI platforms, the most valuable outcome may be a clear answer to a basic question: whether their existing data estate is ready for AI to search, summarise and act on it.
