BlackBerry AtHoc Cloud 7.22 is tightening its Microsoft ties with direct Microsoft Entra ID synchronization, while its existing Microsoft Teams integrations keep emergency communications inside the collaboration tool many organizations already use.
The practical change is in identity administration. BlackBerry said the June 30 release replaces the manual AtHoc User Sync Client with automated Entra ID user-data synchronization, reducing the risk that alerts target stale staff records during a critical event. For Windows and Microsoft 365 administrators, that turns directory accuracy into part of the incident-response workflow rather than a separate maintenance job.
AtHoc is BlackBerry’s critical-event management platform for emergency notification, accountability, and two-way information gathering. The Entra ID connection automatically updates the people and attributes available for alert targeting as directory records change.
That matters most for organizations using role- or location-based alerting: government agencies, critical-infrastructure operators, healthcare providers, and large enterprises with frequently changing workforces. A reliable identity source does not ensure delivery, but it removes a common failure point before an alert is ever sent.
BlackBerry also added alert-response comments in version 7.22. Recipients can provide contextual feedback alongside a response, giving operators more than a binary acknowledgment when they are assessing conditions in the field.
