For flights, the airline’s own website or app is typically where travelers can confirm:
  • Flight number and operating carrier.

  • Baggage allowance.
  • Seat assignment.
  • Fare restrictions and change conditions.
  • Ticket number or confirmed reservation record.
  • Schedule-change notifications.
For hotels, the direct site is the right place to verify room category, bed configuration, taxes, resort or destination fees, accessibility details, parking, breakfast, refund terms and the property’s actual location.
For international itineraries, the official government and carrier sources deserve even more weight. Visa, passport-validity, health-entry and transit requirements can differ by nationality, routing, length of stay and prior travel history. Trust grows when AI is integrated, but integration is not immunity​

  • A refund is not the same as a free replacement flight.

The safest operational habit is to retain the original confirmation email, booking reference, ticket number, payment receipt and screenshots of any cancellation or schedule-change notice. That distinction matters because an AI assistant may casually tell a traveler that an airline “will provide a hotel.” The more accurate statement is: the airline may owe a refund in qualifying situations, and it may provide meals, lodging or rebooking under its published policy, but the precise entitlement depends on the disruption and carrier commitment.
Tarmac delays have clearer federal rules. 2. Ask the assistant to expose assumptions​
