Tesla Powerwall 3 is now available to homeowners in Northern Ireland, extending Tesla Energy’s latest residential battery platform across the UK. BASENOR, citing a July 29 announcement from Tesla Energy, reported that customers can request quotes through Tesla’s certified-installer channel.
The practical change is not simply another battery option. Powerwall 3 combines a 13.5 kWh battery with an integrated solar inverter, reducing the equipment count for a new solar-and-storage installation compared with earlier Powerwall designs that relied on separate inverter hardware.
Tesla lists Powerwall 3 at up to 11.04 kW of continuous on-grid and backup power, subject to local conditions and grid requirements. That is enough output to make whole-home backup more realistic for homes with larger instantaneous loads, including heat pumps and motors; Tesla rates the system for a 185 A locked-rotor-amp motor start.
The UK model supports up to 20 kW DC of solar input and has three solar inputs with maximum-power-point tracking. Tesla’s documentation also allows installers to configure a lower AC-output ceiling where local grid-connection rules require it.
That qualification matters in Northern Ireland. The hardware may be capable of 11.04 kW, but an individual installation’s permitted export and inverter settings can still be constrained by the local network connection approval.
Tesla also advertises a 10-year warranty.
