Ubisoft says The Division Resurgence will arrive on Steam as a free-to-play release on August 5, 2026, extending the mobile-first shooter RPG to another PC storefront after its Ubisoft Connect early-access run.
The publisher announced the date in a July 30 post, positioning Resurgence as a new canonical story set during the earliest days of New York City’s post-outbreak collapse. Players can work through a PvE campaign solo or in co-op, enter the PvP-focused Dark Zone, and build agents around signature weapons and gear.
Ubisoft’s published PC specifications list Windows 11 and DirectX 11 across every performance target, with 30GB of storage and 8GB of dual-channel RAM as the common baseline. The low-end target is 1080p at 30 FPS on an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3400G using integrated graphics such as Intel UHD 630.
For 1080p at 60 FPS, Ubisoft recommends a GeForce GTX 1650, Radeon RX 5500, or Intel Arc A380. Its 1440p and 4K 60 FPS profiles climb to older mainstream discrete hardware, topping out at a GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, Radeon RX 5600 XT, or Intel Arc A750.
That is a notably modest hardware target for a live-service looter shooter, although Ubisoft’s unusual “Very High” 4K recommendation relies on GPUs with 6GB or 8GB of VRAM. Real-world performance, particularly in the Dark Zone and busy co-op encounters, will need independent testing after launch.
For Windows users, Steam availability removes the need to use Ubisoft Connect as the primary launcher, but it does not eliminate Ubisoft’s account and third-party EULA requirements. Players who are cautious about ring-0 anti-cheat software should factor that into the decision before the August 5 launch.
