Also....I would recommend getting FireFox. You may wish to use it or not but keep it as a backup to the backup.
Usually when this happens a complete uninstall and fresh copy downloaded and then install generally fixes issues of that nature.

I did an uninstall in safe mode even tho I read that you can't do it from there. Got rid of it tho! But then, I was left with no way to get online. Got my head together and d.l. Opera to my laptop -- installed on win7 pc. -- then downloaded chrome. I will keep Opera as a backup and still use chrome. It's my friend's pc and she really wants to keep chrome - thanks.
