Windows 7 change default directory for porgram files

Is there a way to change the default directory for storing program files in Win7. I would like to use a different partition from the OS partition.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

Click on Current Version - in the right pane is ProgramFilesDir - change it there.
