📎 AI Summary:
The thread is about why eBay repeatedly shows a cookie consent prompt on every visit despite the user turning off Firefox’s advanced tracking protection for the site. One responder suggests checking whether the user is in private/incognito mode or has settings/extensions that delete browsing data on exit. Another answer attributes the behavior to eBay’s site logic (hardcoded) that requests consent to access browsing history for personalized product suggestions, and the overall sentiment is understanding with a quick resolution.

Hi,

I get this request about accepting cookies on eBay on every visit, I have turned off advanced tracking protection for the site in FireFox so why is it asking every time? Thanks in advance.

eBay Motors page showing car categories, filters, and cookie consent buttons.

Are you using in private tabs? There's also a setting to delete all data on exit or an extension deleting the data.

it is something that is hardcoded by the website, it usually asks you so that it can check your history and suggest products accordingly.
