WMP12 when I double-click on .mp3 or any video file, picture viewer when I d/c on a .jpeg or other image file, the calculator when I open it with the keyboard button (this one might be a different issue, though it did open on top in XP with the button).

The weird thing is, that on my Win7 Ultimate x86 laptop, after I finally got WMP11 installed & working on it and fixed the "double-click to open" problem, it now opens WMP11 on top, like I'm used to.

Win7 x64 Ultimate About 98% of the time, when I double click on a file (video, photo, mp3, etc) the app opens under the current window. Rarely it opens on top like I'm used to. Never had this issue with XP, it always opened the app on top of whatever else was open and maximized at the time...

I didn't know that prevented "pinning". Do you have any kind of tweak app on your machine? Most of these (including TuneUp Utilities) have an option to remove the shortcut arrow. If you have such an app, it should allow you to put the arrow back.

I did an installation repair and have been able to change the UAC setting, so I think I'm good on that.

Right now I have ESET Nod32 antivirus/antispyware. As far as a "personal" firewall, what would you recommend beyond Windows Firewall & Defender? BTW, I agree on the GTO. I had an '05 which, while a ton of fun, looked pretty generic. Too bad it'll never happen now.
