Windows 7 That slow windows 7 performance issue AGAIN!

    a) I used Ccleaner to tidy up my site and do the registry too. That was several days before I installed Advanced System Care which does a better job of that (IMHO). I am a website designer, not a windows technician, so I need to rely on this type of program to keep things in order. HOWEVER...

Windows 7 That slow windows 7 performance issue AGAIN!

To answer both of your posts above: a) I was running Bitdefender before I did the OS reinstall, in fact I thought THAT may well have been the problem! I cannot believe that 2 top-rated internet security systems BOTH cause this kind of problem. b) I mentioned in my original post "I use Iobit...

Windows 7 That slow windows 7 performance issue AGAIN!

I don't think Norton is the cause of the problem. It has a feature that shows CPU and Memory loads - see attached, memory first. This machine should easily cope - but is almost unusable! The period you see in the reports is over the past 90 mins. Looks fine - but it isn't.

BIZARRE ... after a reboot I was able to install this program OK. The right-click continues not to function, but using the route via Control Panel seems to fix it. Sorry to trouble you.

I have just taken delivery of a new laptop running Windows Home Premium 64 bit O/S. I have an old program that is absolutely essential (my accounts) and I have previously installed this using the "troubleshoot compatibility" option. When I right-click and select this option on the new machine...

I have a laptop with a pair of 500Gb physical HDDs, each drive has 3 partitions. For the past 18 months I have been successfully running Vista (my original OS) on C: and Win 7 Home Premium installed on my G: partition on the 2nd physical drive. Win 7 installed on G: Yes, I can see that Win 7 is installed on the G: partition when I look at my Computer and Vista is on C:. My data and backup data are on 2 other partitions, so I am free to restore Drive Images of C: (or G:) without affecting any data. While I am sure you are correct...

Windows 7 Win 7 booting from G: partition in dual boot mode

I have a laptop with twin HDDs and I have Vista on the C: partition on Drive 1. I created a new partition G: on Drive 2 and, while Vista was running, inserted the Win 7 disc and started installation to G:. All went perfectly and I have retained my original partitions with drive letters and...
