Ok, figured this out. No issues here. Did not know about the simple encryption method being used. So:

I don't usually mess with the registry but occasionally manually edit to make small changes. Anyhow, I was doing a search for a particular key and I came across what appears to be references to drives and folders/files that do not exist on my computer. There are a lot of them actually spread...
Thanks BassFisher for providing that link. I actually got it working by going into network connections and clicking on the wireless connection which is how my win 7 machine gets on the internet. In the properties window there is a tab called sharing. In there is a checkbox for "allowing other...
Yeah I know the difference between those different types of ports, these are cat5e connections and one of the cables is crossed over so even though the other two cables that are junctioned together with this crossover are standard the signals will still travel to the right destination. I'm...
I am trying to make a direct connection to a XP machine using a cable. No switch or router involved. Can it be done? There are 3 cables joined by fem/fem connectors and one of the cables is a crossover. In my mind as long as there is a crossover in the mix then the transmit + and - are...
Solved!
The site instructions said to place the applet in the windows/system32 folder then access it via control panel. After finding that didn't work I came across a German site that added that Win 7 64 users should put the file in the sysWOW64 folder. This added the applet to control panel...
I'm trying but it doesn't show up as an option in CP. Maybe in Vista there was an option to show 32 bit applets but I can't seem to find this in Win 7.
The sequencer program is old...meant for windows 95-98 and what I hear from most MS pros is that I should ditch it for a more up-to-the-times sequencer. It is working though and after a whole lot, and I mean A WHOLE LOT of trial with sequencer software of today, I do not want to stop using it...
Thanks guys, sorry it took so long to get back to you but have been extremely busy. I have been able to get it done and both suggestions work fine. These are incredibly easy to employ, the script I had was a VB script and had lots of lines, stuff I could never remember if my life depended on...
I have a very old midi sequencer program that I was just yesterday finally able to get working in Win 7 HP 64. The output ports available to use are:
A MS GS Wavetable synth (default)
B Delta AP Midi
Obviously I do not want to use the wavetable synth at all. In XP I could assign a default...

I had this wonderful script that I got from someplace (can't recall) that enabled or disabled lan connections in windows xp. I used it to turn the wireless card on/off as the card made clicking noises during recording/playback of music files. I have just performed a clean install of windows 7...

It worked. You have to install the printer as a local device on the networked computer(s) then select the port that the printer is actually attached to which isn't difficult when the network is setup properly on all machines. I didn't quite get that at first. Thanks!:p
I have a Windows XP machine and a Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit machine on my network. Attached to the Windows 7 machine is a HP 1050 printer. I have setup network printing and there are no error messages when I print from the XP machine but there is no printer action. When I print from the...
