Windows 8 Have these bugs/annoyances been fixed in the Windows version that was released on 26th October or ar

Yes, that's what I was talking about. They signed off their OS with "Windows 7 File Recovery" in the control panel, visible in plain sight. It's Windows 8 and hence, it should have been renamed to Windows 8 File Recovery. This is gross negligence. It is not a bug that could be overlooked while...

Windows 8 Have these bugs/annoyances been fixed in the Windows version that was released on 26th October or ar

That is not the recovery I am talking about. You are probably confusing it with another option "Recovery" (a different option which is also present in the control panel with a computer and clock icon.) This is what I mean : And I am not the only one. This has previously been...

Windows 8 Have these bugs/annoyances been fixed in the Windows version that was released on 26th October or ar

Ah, let's hope someone does find a way to do that. What about the "Windows 7 File Recovery" in the control panel? Have they renamed it/ fixed it? Can you take a look for me please? :D

Hello sgage. Thanks for the response. What do you exactly mean by "as far as I can tell" ? Have you used the retail version? If this really hasn't been fixed, this is enough to keep me away from Windows 8. First time in history will I move away from Windows as this isn't just a small issue for...

Windows 8 Post Known Bugs in Windows 8 RTM

Is MS aware of these bugs? Have they been worked upon and fixed before being shoved down unsuspecting users' throats purchasing Windows 8 26th October onwards?

Windows 8 Have these bugs/annoyances been fixed in the Windows version that was released on 26th October or ar

Problem 1 : You can't change the color of the tile bar text color and the minimize/maximize buttons which renders it impossible to see these with dark colored themes. Read more about the issue here : Windows 8 Desktop UI - Change Title Text Color? Problem 2: : Presence of "Windows 7 File...

Windows 8 Post Known Bugs in Windows 8 RTM

    1. Presence of "Windows 7 File Recovery" in Windows 8 Build 9200. This is clearly a bug as the RTM version shouldn't have such a blatant mistake. It has already been discussed here ...

Windows 8 "Windows 7 File Recovery" in Windows 8? MS forgot to rename this feature or what?

This has been bugging me for quite a while now. Since the developer preview, I have been noticing "Windows 7 File Recovery" to be sitting in the control panel. At first, I thought it's just there because it's in the testing phase. But now, it's still there in the RTM build (Build 9200). What...

Windows 7 Parition ("E drive") suddenly went missing. Does not appear in Windows Disk Management tool or third

Thank you for all the replies! Since she isn't over here and is far away, and also considering the fact that she isn't a tech-savvy person and thus, is unwilling to fiddle with the hardware/complex software settings, there isn't much that I can do right now. But really, thanks for your help...

Windows 7 Parition ("E drive") suddenly went missing. Does not appear in Windows Disk Management tool or third

In my Sister's laptop, running Windows 7 Ultimate x86, all of a sudden, while she was working on the computer, the "E drive" went missing which was a partition on the hard disk (I don't remember if it was a logical or primary partition). She tried restarting the system but to no avail. So, I...

Windows 7 Unremovable "Windows 7 x64" Entry in the boot menu (Not even with EasyBCD).

I see. I'll take a complete system backup on my external hard drive (System Image) and then I'll go with your suggestion Kaos. If everything is well, I should boot up just fine. If not, I can restore my system back to the original state. I'll let you guys know what happened. Thanks.
