My OS is Windows 7 Pro. Under Start, in the search box, "services" does not bring up anything. But in Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services, Themes is listed as a service, Status is "Started", Startup Type is "Automatic" And under Task Manager, Services tab, Themes is one of the...

    Windows 7 Anybody out there?

Thanks for the long long long shot. I tried to humour you, but in IE11 your check box "Enable Enhanced Protected Mode" does not exist; not under "Security" or any other item. I apologize for the delay in this reply.

    Windows 7 Anybody out there?

ie11 was not the default browser. So I made it the default browser. It made no difference. Then I followed your second msg, and it does say "This program has all its defaults". So there has been no change.

    Windows 7 Anybody out there?

Thanks for the suggestions. But neither one worked. I still have the same problem in IE11. All works well in Google Chrome.

    Windows 7 Anybody out there?

Three weeks ago, on October 27, 2014, I posted a question on this forum (Windows 7 Software), with title: "IE11 fails to go to links". It's still there. Surprisingly, no one has replied. If anyone has an idea I'd appreciate hearing from you. Should it be in a different forum?

Windows 7 IE11 fails to go to links

I'm using Win7 Pro on a five year old Toshiba Satellite laptop. In my online email (via Cox Communications, Cox WebMail), I wish to click on a web link in the email and go to that web site. Recently Internet Explorer 11 fails to do that. When I click on the link it takes me to a blank page. It...

Windows Media Player won't play a DVD movie

------- There is no external monitor, just the original attached one on the laptop. The VideoLAN VLC player sounds promising, and I'll try it if no other solution comes up. But do I really need to use a third party player just to play a common, normal, standard DVD? It would seem that surely...

Windows Media Player won't play a DVD movie

I have 32bit Win7 Pro on a Toshiba Satellite laptop purchased in December, 2009. The DVD player is set to Windows Media Player When trying to play a movie on DVD (borrowed from local library), I get this msg: "Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because it is not possible to turn on...

Windows 7 Javascript links don't work

Javascript links in web pages do not work in my Win7. I click on the link and nothing happens. I'm on a Toshiba M500 Satellite laptop. Everything else works fine. All Win7 updates are routinely installed automatically, so the OS is up-to-date. How do I fix that?

Windows 7 Customizing a drop down menu.

It looks like it just can't be done in Win7. More than strange. Very frustrating. I had it all working nicely in XP. Anyone have any other ideas?

I want to add another word processor to open a file.

Windows 7 Customizing a drop down menu.

My OS is 32bit Win7 Pro. In Windows Explorer, when you right click a file, a drop down menu opens showing options to choose. I'd like to add another option on that menu. How do you do that? (It was easy in WinXP.) Please let me know if this request is more appropriate in another forum. Thanks.

Windows 7 Open a file with an application in a non-conventional way

I'm trying to get a good Win XP routine to work in my new Win7 Pro 32-bit OS. I need to open a document with an application in a non-conventional way. I'm encountering two problems. In Win XP you could specify one or more applications to open a file type (i.e., a file of certain extension)...
