ie11 was not the default browser. So I made it the default browser. It made no difference. Then I followed your second msg, and it does say "This program has all its defaults". So there has been no change.

Thanks for the suggestions. But neither one worked. I still have the same problem in IE11. All works well in Google Chrome.

Javascript links in web pages do not work in my Win7. I click on the link and nothing happens. I'm on a Toshiba M500 Satellite laptop. Everything else works fine. All Win7 updates are routinely installed automatically, so the OS is up-to-date. How do I fix that?

I want to add another word processor to open a file.
