Windows 7 got a boost from the Techradar Awards this afternoon after it trounced its rival Apple's Snow Leopard Operating System to win the software category.
Okay so Apple did win 8 out of the 17 awards including the Essential phone of the year for the iPhone 3Gs, so Steve Jobs won't exactly be crying into his latte. But still it's a coup for Microsoft who invested a lot into getting this Operating System right.
The awards were voted for by readers and the other big winner of the UK-based site's awards was the BBC iPlayer which scooped the "Most essential online innovation award" as well as being voted the "Most innovative home entertainment platform".
