After the horror story I had installing, I found a diamond in the rough. I put a 64 bit win 7 on an old athlon 64 2800/i gig of RaM/ and AGO video card (which means no Aero)/ all on top of a 754 mobo. I must say that this is fast. Maybe the fact that I'm not using Aero has me cruising, but I've been abusing this new system for hours and it's handling everything I toss at it...very nice.
I'm accepting Ideas for further abuse....
Nice forum by the way

Have you tried to get Aero running. Get the latest graphics drivers from the correct site. Run the install.exe in compatibility mode for Vista or WinXP. In most cases you will find you can run Aero.
