FEVM’s FN80G is an unusually ambitious small-form-factor PC on paper: an Intel desktop Core Ultra 200S processor paired with graphics ranging from an RTX 5060 Laptop GPU to an RTX 5090 Laptop GPU, plus unusually strong networking and storage expansion for a roughly 2.6-litre chassis. But the details matter more than the headline. The machine was reported to have gone on sale in China on September 3, 2026—not September 7, the publication date of one early report—and the frequently repeated top-end price needs correction.

Two contemporaneous China-sale reports put the highest listed barebone FN80G, combining a Core Ultra 7 270KP with an RTX 5090M 24GB, at CNY 19,999. A CNY 23,999 figure has also appeared in coverage, but the available evidence does not establish it as the top barebone price. It could conceivably refer to a differently configured system, such as one supplied with memory and storage, but that has not been verified.

For Windows users considering whether this is a compact gaming PC, workstation, home-lab machine, or all-in-one desk system, the distinction between reported specifications, actual shipped configurations, and independently measured results is crucial.

What the FN80G is—and what it is not​

The FN80G is FEVM’s Intel-platform counterpart to the company’s AMD-based FA80G. Its headline design choice is using desktop-class Arrow Lake/Core Ultra 200S CPUs in a compact enclosure alongside a discrete Nvidia GPU. That differs from a conventional mini PC built around a mobile processor and integrated graphics, but it does not automatically make the FN80G a replacement for a full tower.

The reported Chinese configuration range includes:

  • Core Ultra 5 230F with RTX 5060 8GB Laptop GPU
  • Core Ultra 5 250KP or 250K Plus with RTX 5060 Ti 16GB
  • Higher-end Core Ultra 7 270KP or 270K Plus variants paired with RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, RTX 5080M, or RTX 5090M graphics

There is an important naming trap in that list. The RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is described as a desktop GPU, while the RTX 5060, RTX 5080, and RTX 5090 options are Laptop GPUs. Nvidia’s published standard memory capacities for the cited Laptop GPUs are 8GB for the RTX 5060 Laptop GPU, 16GB for the RTX 5080 Laptop GPU, and 24GB for the RTX 5090 Laptop GPU.

That means shoppers should not interpret the FN80G’s graphics labels as a simple, like-for-like hierarchy against desktop cards. A desktop RTX 5060 Ti and an RTX 5080 Laptop GPU occupy very different product categories even if one number is higher. Power limits, cooling behavior, game performance, and application performance can vary substantially by implementation. No independent benchmark results from a retail FN80G were provided in the available research, so performance conclusions would be premature.

China availability and the corrected price picture​

The FN80G was reported as formally available for sale in China from September 3, 2026. The entry barebone was listed at CNY 6,999 for a Core Ultra 5 230F plus RTX 5060 8GB configuration. A Core Ultra 5 250KP plus RTX 5060 Ti 16GB barebone was listed at CNY 9,399.

At the other end of the range, the Core Ultra 7 270KP plus RTX 5090M 24GB barebone was reported at CNY 19,999. That is the better-supported price for the top barebone specification. It should not be replaced with CNY 23,999 merely because another early report listed that number.

“Barebone” is not a trivial qualifier for Windows buyers. Depending on the exact sales package, buyers may need to provide their own memory, NVMe SSDs, operating system installation, and potentially a Windows license. The reported platform supports two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots and up to 128GB of memory, but neither RAM nor storage capacity should be assumed from the barebone price.

There is also no confirmed evidence of a broader international release, overseas pricing, regional warranty coverage, or seller support. Until those details are published by an official channel or retailer, buyers outside China should treat import availability as uncertain rather than imminent.

Compact dimensions, sizable claimed power budget​

The FN80G chassis is reported to measure 180 mm by 168 mm by 88 mm, for a volume of approximately 2.6 litres. It can reportedly be used horizontally or vertically. That is a notably compact footprint for a machine carrying both a desktop processor and high-end discrete graphics.

FEVM’s reported combined CPU-and-GPU power budget is up to 250W. If the design can sustain that figure, it would help explain how a small system could offer higher-class components than the typical integrated-graphics mini PC. Yet a power-budget claim is not equivalent to a sustained-performance result.

The company’s reported cooling design uses separate four-heatpipe paths for the CPU and GPU. It also claims full-load acoustics of 42dB, CPU temperatures at or below 85°C, and GPU temperatures at or below 80°C. Those figures have not been independently reproduced on an FN80G unit.

That uncertainty matters in daily Windows use. A system can look excellent in a short burst—opening projects, launching a game, compiling a small build, or applying an AI effect—then reduce clocks or raise fan speeds during a longer render, sustained game session, software build, or local model workload. Review testing should establish not only average performance, but also the power profiles, room-temperature conditions, noise measurement method, storage temperatures, and whether the chassis performs differently when standing vertically.

The counterargument is fair: every compact performance PC must make thermal and acoustic compromises, and a 2.6-litre system is inherently constrained compared with a tower. The FN80G’s appeal is not that it eliminates those trade-offs; it is that its reported component selection and 250W combined budget suggest it may offer a stronger performance-density proposition than most mini PCs. That proposition remains to be tested.

Expansion is a practical strength​

The reported internal layout includes two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots, two M.2 2280 NVMe slots, and a separate M.2 2230 slot intended for a PCIe Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module. For users who buy a barebone, that is a useful foundation: two full-length NVMe positions allow a straightforward split between an operating-system drive and a game, media, project, or virtual-machine drive.

For Windows 11 users, 32GB of RAM would be a reasonable baseline for demanding multitasking, while larger capacities may be meaningful for creators, local virtual machines, development work, large media projects, and some local AI workloads. The reported 128GB maximum makes the platform more flexible than many small consumer systems, although compatibility and validated memory speeds should be checked against final product documentation before purchase.

The discrete-GPU architecture also has practical consequences. The entry configuration is listed with a Core Ultra 5 230F and an RTX 5060 Laptop GPU, so its display and graphics experience depends fundamentally on the separate Nvidia hardware. That should make GPU driver support, system firmware maturity, and the manufacturer’s handling of display outputs central considerations during early reviews and user feedback.

Connectivity may broaden the FN80G’s audience​

The strongest reported I/O features are a front 40Gbps Thunderbolt 4 port, 10GbE Ethernet, 2.5GbE Ethernet, and a rear USB-C display output connected to the discrete GPU. Reports also say the FN80G can support as many as six 4K displays.

For a conventional gaming PC, 10GbE may be excessive. For other Windows deployments, it is more meaningful. A compact system with high-speed networking could fit a small office editing setup, a shared-storage workflow, a software development environment, or a home lab where fast local transfers matter. The additional 2.5GbE port could also permit separate network roles, though actual routing, virtualization, and driver behavior will depend on the final hardware and Windows configuration.

Thunderbolt 4 offers another potential advantage for desk-bound users: one high-bandwidth connection can simplify access to fast external storage and selected docks. Still, buyers should confirm the final port layout and functions from the exact model being sold. Early reporting describes a wider inventory of USB, HDMI, DisplayPort, audio, and SD connectivity, but that complete port count and the listed standards have not been independently corroborated from a directly retrieved product page. The more firmly corroborated items are Thunderbolt 4, both Ethernet ports, the rear discrete-GPU USB-C output, and the claimed six-display capability.

Buying advice: wait for the missing evidence​

The FN80G has a compelling reported specification profile: a small chassis, desktop Intel processor options, high-end Nvidia graphics choices, two M.2 2280 slots, up to 128GB of DDR5, Thunderbolt 4, and dual Ethernet including 10GbE. The China pricing also makes the entry CNY 6,999 barebone and the reported CNY 19,999 top RTX 5090M barebone significant reference points.

But it is too early to treat the specification sheet as a performance verdict. Prospective buyers should wait for independent testing of sustained CPU and GPU performance, noise, thermals, power behavior, BIOS stability, Windows sleep and driver reliability, and the actual included components in each SKU. They should also verify whether a listing is a true barebone or a fully configured Windows-ready system.

For buyers in China who are comfortable assembling a PC and supplying their own operating system and storage, the FN80G could be an interesting high-density alternative to a larger desktop. For everyone else, the absence of confirmed international availability, pricing, and warranty terms is decisive. Until FEVM or a regional seller confirms those basics, the FN80G is best understood as a promising China-market mini PC rather than a globally available recommendation.
