For Windows players, the useful news is straightforward: the PC version is part of the announcement. But the edition, subscription entitlement, and platform boundaries deserve a closer look before anyone starts rearranging their backlog.
Which Game Pass plans include it?
Microsoft lists three qualifying subscriptions for Intergrade:
- Game Pass Ultimate
- Game Pass Premium
- PC Game Pass
The announced platforms are cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Game Pass Essential is not listed for catalog access, and the announcement does not identify a native Xbox One version. PC Game Pass is the explicitly named PC subscription option; readers should not interpret the combined platform listing as identical access rights across every plan.
There is also a potentially confusing distinction on the Xbox Store. Its listing says purchased copies can be cloud-playable with Essential, Premium, or Ultimate, while separately identifying the subscriptions receiving the game in their catalogs. Those are different entitlements: streaming a game you purchased is not the same as receiving it through a subscription library.
What the Intergrade edition contains
The Xbox Store identifies Intergrade as a package containing the full Final Fantasy VII Remake game and FF7R EPISODE INTERmission, the additional episode featuring Yuffie Kisaragi. It also includes bonus equipment and summon materia. The listing notes that certain Digital Deluxe Edition items are not included, so “expanded edition” should not be confused with “every edition’s extras.”
Equally important, this is not the entire original Final Fantasy VII story rebuilt into one release. The store describes it as the first installment in a multipart remake, expanding the Midgar section of the original adventure. Subscribers are getting that first game and its Yuffie episode—not the whole remake series.
A Game Pass arrival, not an Xbox debut
Square Enix’s launch announcement establishes that Intergrade reached Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC on January 22, 2026, with Xbox Play Anywhere support. October 29 therefore changes how qualifying subscribers can access it, rather than marking its first availability on Microsoft’s platforms. Existing owners need not wait for the catalog addition.
Square Enix also documents an optional Streamlined Progression feature, including unlimited HP and MP, unlimited battle gauges, and easier weapon-ability acquisition. That is a practical consideration for players more interested in progressing through the story than mastering every combat encounter. These options are separate from the subscription announcement.
Treat “10/10” and “90 hours” as headline claims
ScreenRant describes the game as a “10/10” JRPG and attributes a nearly 90-hour duration to HowLongToBeat. However, that report does not identify the critic behind the score or the playstyle category behind the time estimate. Neither figure should be treated as a universal rating or a guaranteed completion time.
The stronger takeaway needs no numerical fireworks: a clearly identified edition is entering specific Game Pass tiers on a confirmed date. Microsoft has not announced a departure date for Intergrade in this update, so the October 29 arrival should not be mistaken for a promise of permanent availability.
