The Daily Downforce highlighted the convenience-store collaboration, but the more useful story for players is what remains after the branded event ends—and which additions require separate paid content.
A temporary meetup with lasting building assets
The 7-Eleven car meet arrives in Nangan, near Nangan Day Trip, with a Japanese-style convenience store overlooking Mount Fuji. The world location is temporary; the store building remains available for EventLab creations. The associated props support EventLab, Garage and Estate building, including flags, signs, tents, vending machines, storage items, barriers and railing. There is also an Egg Salad Sandwich collectible, because apparently even virtual road trips require provisions.
That distinction matters for creators: the seasonal gathering disappears, but its construction kit gives players material for their own spaces afterward. It is a more durable addition than a photo opportunity alone.
During the first Playlist week, photographing the meet unlocks a clerk uniform. Playing during Horizon Meets awards the “Welcome!” badge, while parking there in the 2000 Honda Prelude Type SH unlocks “Please Visit Again!” Playground also lists the Mazda Furai, Toyota MR2 SC and Mercedes-Benz AMG CLK GTR among the meet’s rare or discounted Aftermarket Cars, without giving their credit prices in the announcement.
New cars: watch the weekly reward windows
Horizon Meets introduces three vehicles new to the Horizon series, alongside two returning cars. Playground’s reward schedule separates the month-long BMW target from the weekly rewards:
| Reward car | Availability in 2026 | Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 BMW M4 CS | October 8–November 5 | 80 Series points |
| 2000 Honda Prelude Type SH | October 8–15 | 20 Summer points |
| 2018 DeBerti Ford Mustang GT | October 15–22 | 20 Autumn points |
| 2004 Saleen S7 | October 22–29 | 20 Winter points |
| 1968 Holden Monaro GTS 327 | October 29–November 5 | 20 Spring points |
The BMW, Prelude and Holden are the new-to-Horizon entries. The update also introduces the 1973 Lamborghini Espada 400 GT as a Series History reward at 1,100 accumulated points, plus Konbini and Noodle Slurp horns. A separate Treasure Car hunt leads to the 1970 Citroën 2CV using an in-game photo clue; Playground does not disclose its hiding place.
For collectors, the practical priority is the Prelude’s first-week window. It also supplies the vehicle needed for the collaboration’s parking badge.
Horizon Play expands—and banked XP counts
Horizon Play grows from level 100 to level 300, with 20 additional player badges awarded at ten-level intervals. Playground says excess XP earned after reaching the previous ceiling counts toward the new ranks, with the updated level appearing on the next login.
Spec Racing gains ten vehicles:
- 2019 Ginetta G40 Junior
- 2020 Lamborghini Essenza SCV12
- 1990 Alfa Romeo SE 048SP
- 1992 Mazda RX-7 Type R
- 2008 Mazda Furai
- 2023 Audi R8 Coupé V10 GT RWD
- 1987 Ferrari F40
- 2017 Saleen S7 LM
- 1967 Ferrari #24 Ferrari Spa 330 P4
- 1990 Nissan #12 Skyline GT-R (BNR32 Gr.A) JTC
Crucially, the Alfa Romeo, Audi and Nissan are paid DLC vehicles elsewhere, but players do not need their DLC packs to use them in the Spec Racing playlist. This is mode-specific access, not a grant of unrestricted ownership.
Edamame Circuit has class restrictions
The returning Edamame Circuit becomes a permanent addition, but not for every class in every mode. Playground specifies:
- Horizon Drift: all PI classes.
- Spec Racing: B and C classes only.
- Horizon Racing: B class only.
Those boundaries are worth knowing before looking for the circuit in an incompatible playlist. Its original appearance was during Horizon Mascot Party; Horizon Meets gives it a lasting role within these defined categories.
Car Pass additions are separate from Playlist rewards
Car Pass owners receive four more vehicles on successive Thursdays:
| Release date in 2026 | Car |
|---|---|
| October 8 | 1972 Datsun 240Z #5 Rallye |
| October 15 | 2024 Ferrari Purosangue |
| October 22 | 1990 Eunos Cosmo |
| October 29 | 2024 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4Matic+ |
Playground says these arrive without additional in-game cost for entitled players. Car Pass is included with Deluxe, Premium and the Premium Upgrade, and is sold separately for Standard Edition and Game Pass players. These are not universal free Playlist rewards.
Fixes now, Tokyo content next
The accompanying release notes address a Drift Attack scoring exploit involving fast travel or rewinds, missing Drive Mode animation audio on four cars, missing stationary tire-scrub audio, and a Temple of Nachi Falls photography task that failed to award Collection Journal points. Additional engine swaps are confirmed, although the announcement does not enumerate them. None of those notes establishes a Windows performance improvement or frame-rate increase.
Looking ahead, Playground previews City Life, with two permanent Tokyo race routes, three more new-to-Horizon Playlist cars and another EventLab prop pack. The preview does not name those cars or supply an exact release date.
For now, the sensible plan is straightforward: install the update, distinguish the October 8 Playlist launch from the patch rollout, and check each reward’s deadline and entitlement. The convenience store may be the conversation starter, but retained building assets, carried-over XP and broader Spec Racing access are the changes with longer legs.
