Forza Horizon 6 is reportedly heading to PlayStation 5 on January 26, 2027. That would be a few weeks past the "later this year" window Xbox and Playground Games have publicly stuck to. Nothing here is official yet, so the date, price and format below are all unconfirmed.

What the report says

Dealabs leaker billbil-kun reportedly says Forza Horizon 6 will launch on PS5 on January 26, 2027, with a physical version available. ComicBook.com, PlayStation LifeStyle and AOL all ran the story on October 7. PlayStation LifeStyle called the leaker someone with a "near-flawless track record" and said an official announcement is expected this week, with PS Store preorders going live at the same time.

Price is the part that varies by region:

  • ComicBook.com reports a US price of $69.99, the same as Xbox and PC.
  • Insider Gaming says the European and UK prices would match the Xbox Series version, at €69.99 and £59.99.
  • PlayStation LifeStyle only says the game will be full-priced and also come on disc.

Three stories, one source

The three submitted stories don't amount to three confirmations. AOL's copy is a republished PlayStation LifeStyle post by the same author, Zarmena Khan. ComicBook.com attributes its date to Dealabs. All of it traces back to one leaker. Other outlets such as PlayStation Universe and Insider Gaming also lead with billbil-kun's report, so none of it is independent corroboration.

The leaker's reputation is also a judgment by the outlets reporting him, not proof of this particular date. PlayStation Universe notes the date matches earlier rumours that the game wouldn't reach Sony's console until next year. That fits a separate claim, which Playday says came from Tom Warren around a month ago, that the game would slip to 2027. Both of those are still rumours, not Microsoft statements.

What Microsoft and Playground have said officially

  • The official Playground announcement from January 22, 2026 put Xbox Series X|S and PC on May 19, 2026, with Premium Edition early access from May 15. It also said the PS5 version was coming "later this year" and opened PlayStation Store wishlists.
  • The official FAQ repeats the PS5 "later this year" timing. It gives no day or month, and it doesn't announce PS5 preorders.
  • On September 8, VGC reported that Xbox had reiterated the PS5 version was still coming before the end of 2026. Insider Gaming likewise cites a Playground statement from last month that the game will be "releasing on PS5 later this year."

If the January 26 date holds, it would be a delay against that stated window. So far it is only a reported delay, not an acknowledged one.

What remains unknown

The leak and the official record leave several PS5 questions open:

  • Whether there will be a PS5 Premium Edition. Insider Gaming says no details on that, or on early access, are known.
  • Whether the PS5 version has any early access at all. The May 15 early access was an Xbox and PC Premium Edition benefit, and it shouldn't be assumed to carry over.
  • The final PS5 pricing and edition lineup.
  • Cross-play and cross-progression terms, and whether every feature matches the Xbox and PC version.

Why this matters to Xbox and PC readers

This is part of Microsoft's multiplatform approach to its first-party games. VGC noted that Xbox has moved to deciding exclusivity game by game, which made some players worry about the PS5 port. It also said Xbox had committed to previously announced multiplatform releases going ahead. VGC added that the PS5 launch matters commercially, since Forza Horizon 5 reportedly sold more than 5 million copies on PS5.

ComicBook.com adds a scheduling point. Playground's RPG Fable is reportedly due on February 23, directly on PS5 as well. That would put two big Playground releases less than a month apart.

For Xbox and PC players, the practical effect is limited. The Xbox Series X|S and PC versions are already out, and Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members got the game at launch at no extra cost. A PS5 release date doesn't change any of that.

What to watch for

  1. An official Xbox or Playground announcement this week, which the leaker says will come alongside the date.
  2. A live PlayStation Store listing with preorders. Until one exists, the date and price remain unverified.
  3. Wording on the PS5 edition lineup, early access and regional pricing.
  4. Any acknowledgment from Playground or Xbox that the original 2026 target has changed.

If the leak is right, announcement and preorders should arrive within days. If nothing official appears, treat January 26, 2027 as a rumour, not a firm date.
