What has been announced
Microsoft will host the showcase in partnership with IGN on October 20 at 10:00 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET. You can watch on YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and IGN.com.
The broadcast is billed as new trailers, gameplay and more, including The Wolf Among Us Remastered, CRITICAL REFLEX and "tons of world premieres." The French site Gamekyo, which flagged the event on October 13, gives the same two titles and a start time of 19:00.
How many games? Reports disagree
The reports don't agree on the size of the lineup:
- Gematsu's report says the show features over 20 games.
- Pure Xbox says the showcase is set to highlight 18 games.
- Game Bastion, quoting what looks like the official announcement text, also says the livestream includes trailers, gameplay and more from 18 games.
- Playfront puts the number at 20.
Two outlets, one quoting the announcement text, say 18. Treat "roughly 18 to 20" as the safe range. The exact count should be settled when the show airs.
Your local start time
The 10 a.m. PT start is the fixed point. Game Bastion lists it as 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST.
The 19:00 on Gamekyo fits central European time. This is my own conversion, not from the reports. Europe's clocks don't change until the following weekend, so France is still on summer time that day. For readers on other time zones:
| Region | Start time on October 20 |
|---|---|
| US Pacific | 10:00 a.m. |
| US Eastern | 1:00 p.m. |
| UK | 6:00 p.m. |
| France / central Europe | 7:00 p.m. |
The Wolf Among Us Remastered: showcase date versus release date
The showcase is not the game's launch. Telltale's October 8 announcement says nothing about the showcase, and I'm not claiming it does. It does give the remaster a digital launch date of October 29. That is nine days after the show.
Telltale's announcement lists these platforms:
- PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One
- Xbox Series X|S through backward compatibility
- Physical editions in Q1 2027
Telltale's materials also describe a new Noir Mode, a black-and-white presentation you can toggle against the original look. They list over an hour of behind-the-scenes material, playable deleted scenes and an image gallery. No source says which of these, if any, will appear in the broadcast.
For Xbox owners, the practical point is that there is no native Xbox Series X|S version. On those consoles you would play the Xbox One edition through backward compatibility.
What is still unknown
None of the reports I found covers any of the following:
- The show's length. For scale, IGN's recap of last October's edition described a roughly 50-minute show. That is only a precedent, not a promise.
- The remaining titles in the lineup.
- Which reveals are world premieres.
- Release dates and platforms for individual games.
- Game Pass additions. Pure Xbox notes that the show usually brings a bunch of Game Pass announcements. That is a pattern the site points to, not an announcement.
There is also a change in how Xbox showcases handle other platforms. Wikipedia's article on the Developer Direct says Asha Sharma stated that Xbox showcases following the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 would return to focusing exclusively on games presented for Xbox platforms. That statement is about Xbox's own showcases, and I haven't seen it applied to this show. Even so, the Game Bastion text describes reveals from games headed to Xbox and PC. Expect Xbox and PC availability to be front and centre. Don't assume every game is exclusive to either.
What to do before the show
- Convert 10 a.m. PT to your own time zone, using the table above.
- Choose a platform. IGN's channels are the common thread, and the announcement lists no separate Xbox channel.
- Wishlist or follow anything that catches your eye. As far as I can tell, the show is a promotional broadcast and isn't tied to a platform update or a store sale.
- Treat the lineup as unconfirmed until the broadcast. The two named titles are the only ones confirmed so far, and the game count is still disputed.
Indie showcases like this are where small Xbox and PC titles often get their first real exposure. Seen that way, it is a modest but useful date for Xbox and PC players to mark.
Update: Shrek 2 Remastered tipped for a showcase reveal (October 19, 2026)
Shrek 2 Remastered could be among the showcase’s world premieres, according to Pure Xbox’s October 19 preview. The outlet bases that expectation on the game reportedly appearing on the Xbox Store on Friday, October 16. That adds a potential reveal to watch for, but Pure Xbox’s assessment is not confirmation from Xbox, IGN or the game’s publisher.
The distinction matters: a reported store appearance and an expected showcase slot are separate claims. Pure Xbox describes an appearance during the October 20 broadcast as highly likely, rather than announcing a confirmed addition to the lineup. Readers should therefore treat Shrek 2 Remastered as a possible surprise, not a guaranteed segment.
For Xbox and PC players, the practical takeaway is limited to what to watch for during the broadcast. The preview does not establish a release date, PC availability, supported Xbox consoles or Game Pass inclusion for Shrek 2 Remastered. Those details should remain open pending an official announcement rather than being inferred from the reported listing.
Update: Graytail trailer adds November 2027 release window (October 20, 2026)
Graytail has joined the showcase’s revealed lineup, with a gameplay trailer and a November 2027 launch window for PC and Xbox Series X|S, according to IGN’s October 20 trailer coverage. Published during the broadcast, the listing supplies one of the previously unknown game names, along with platforms and release timing.
IGN describes Graytail as a mystery action-adventure set in a 2.5D pixel-art world. Its story follows a detective investigating a famous pilot’s disappearance somewhere in the Pacific, accompanied by the pilot’s daughter. The trailer offers a look at gameplay ahead of the planned launch, rather than announcing immediate availability.
For Windows and Xbox players, the practical addition is a title to track for next year: November 2027 is a release window, not a specific launch date. IGN’s accompanying description does not announce Game Pass inclusion or an Xbox One version. This reveal also does not resolve the disputed total number of games in the showcase; it establishes another individual title rather than a final lineup count.
Update: Critical Reflex reel confirms Arctic Eggs launch and two Game Pass arrivals (October 20, 2026)
Arctic Eggs is available today, October 20, on Xbox Series X|S, according to IGN’s showcase trailer coverage. The Critical Reflex sizzle reel also supplies Xbox release plans for Mouthwashing and No, I’m Not Human, turning the publisher’s previously announced showcase presence into three named games with platform and availability details.
According to IGN, Mouthwashing launches October 29, 2026, on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, with Xbox Game Pass inclusion also listed. Wrong Organ’s psychological horror game follows the crew of a shipwrecked space freighter. No, I’m Not Human, the impostor-identification thriller from developer Trioskaz, is reportedly coming to the same Xbox consoles and Xbox Game Pass in 2027; the listing gives no narrower release window.
For players, the immediate addition is Arctic Eggs, The Water Museum’s unconventional physics-based frying game. IGN lists only Xbox Series X|S for that release and does not announce Game Pass inclusion. Although the reel confirms Game Pass plans for the other two titles, its description does not specify PC Game Pass availability, so Windows players should not infer that from the Xbox announcements alone.
Update: Vanran trailer reveals 2027 release window for PC and Xbox Series X|S (October 20, 2026)
Vanran is coming to PC and Xbox Series X|S in 2027, according to IGN’s October 20 release-window trailer coverage from the ID@Xbox showcase. The reveal adds another named game to the broadcast’s lineup, with platforms and a launch window, though no specific release date.
IGN describes Vanran as a dark fantasy action RPG about a human slave rebelling in the Demon Realm with a sealed blade. The trailer shows gameplay and boss fights, while its description outlines a progression system built around defeating enemies, claiming their powers and becoming stronger. The premise frames the protagonist’s escape around a choice between salvation and vengeance.
For Windows players, the announcement explicitly includes PC rather than leaving availability to inference from an Xbox showcase appearance. However, IGN’s accompanying description does not identify PC storefronts, announce Game Pass inclusion or list an Xbox One version. The 2027 timing remains a broad release window, not a confirmed launch day.
Update: Scramble Knights Online gets October 26 release date and Game Pass listing (October 20, 2026)
Scramble Knights Online will launch on October 26, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S, PC and cloud, with Game Pass availability also listed, according to IGN’s October 20 release-date trailer coverage from the ID@Xbox showcase. The reveal adds another named game to the broadcast’s lineup, this time with a specific launch date just six days after the show.
IGN describes the game as an “MMO-lite” action RPG in which players explore the shared online kingdom of Terracott as knights-in-training. Its cooperative adventures include quests, dungeons, monster battles and loot gathering, with players returning home to forge stronger equipment before heading out again.
For Windows and Xbox players, the practical addition is a near-term release with PC explicitly included, rather than inferred from its showcase appearance. However, IGN’s accompanying description does not identify PC storefronts, specify which Game Pass plans include access, or explain how cloud availability will be offered. It also does not list an Xbox One version. Players planning to access the game through a subscription should check those details before treating the announcement as confirmation that their particular plan or device is supported.
Update: A Game About Digging A Hole Together gets December 4 release date (October 20, 2026)
A Game About Digging A Hole Together will launch on December 4, 2026, according to IGN’s October 20 release-date trailer coverage from the ID@Xbox showcase. IGN lists Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, cloud and Game Pass availability, alongside versions for Steam, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. The reveal adds another confirmed title to the showcase lineup with a specific launch date.
The trailer shows a minimalist digging game with cooperative play at the beach. According to IGN’s description, players dig together, gather and sell resources, upgrade their equipment and search for treasure buried beneath the sand. Multiplayer is part of the announced premise, although the accompanying description does not specify a player limit or confirm cross-platform play.
For Windows players, both Xbox on PC and Steam are explicitly listed. However, IGN’s description does not specify which Game Pass plans include access or detail how cloud availability will work. Those subscription and multiplayer details remain unconfirmed by this source.
Update: Paper Shredder gets winter 2026 release window for Xbox and PC (October 20, 2026)
Paper Shredder is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Steam in winter 2026, according to IGN’s October 20 release-window trailer coverage from the ID@Xbox showcase. IGN also lists Xbox Play Anywhere support. The reveal adds another named game to the broadcast’s lineup, with confirmed platform plans but no specific launch date.
According to IGN, the trailer shows an incremental game built around shredding company paperwork for a fictional $1,000,000 payout. Players shred documents, sweep up, upgrade their equipment and work through increasingly large piles of confidential records, uncovering what lies beneath them. The payout is part of the game’s premise, not a real-world earning opportunity.
For Windows players, the announcement explicitly identifies both Xbox on PC and Steam, rather than leaving PC availability implied by the showcase appearance. IGN’s accompanying description does not announce Game Pass inclusion or an Xbox One version. Its “winter 2026” wording also provides no narrower release window, so players should wait for a specific date before planning around availability.
Update: Chronoscript: The Endless End targets early summer 2027 on Xbox and PC (October 20, 2026)
Chronoscript: The Endless End is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC in early summer 2027, according to IGN’s October 20 trailer coverage from the ID@Xbox showcase. IGN also lists a PlayStation 5 version. The reveal adds another named game to the broadcast’s lineup, with a release window rather than a specific launch date.
According to IGN, the exploration-based action-adventure spans two connected settings: a 3D-rendered grand residence scattered with manuscript pages, and the 2D pen-and-ink worlds contained within them. The trailer shows gameplay and bosses, while the accompanying description introduces the Immortal Vampire and her Editor. Players grow stronger through exploration and combat against the Ruined, described as twisted remnants of people who died in the waking world.
For Windows players, PC availability is explicitly listed, but IGN’s description does not identify storefronts or announce Game Pass inclusion, Xbox Play Anywhere support or an Xbox One edition. Those details remain open pending further announcements.
Update: Drill Keeper announced for PC Game Pass in summer 2027 (October 20, 2026)
Drill Keeper is coming to PC Game Pass in summer 2027, according to IGN’s October 20 announcement-trailer coverage from the ID@Xbox showcase. The reveal adds another named game to the broadcast’s lineup and, for Windows players, explicitly identifies PC subscription availability rather than leaving it implied by an Xbox showcase appearance.
According to IGN, Drill Keeper combines deck-building roguelike mechanics with siege defense. Players travel between planets to secure resources, building fortresses around mining operations and arranging winding pathways and traps to slow underground threats. Across each run, players develop card synergies, refine their digging strategy and experiment with different heroes and factions. The new trailer provides a fresh look at those gameplay systems.
The practical distinction is that this announcement names PC Game Pass specifically. IGN’s accompanying description does not establish an Xbox console release, cloud availability or particular PC storefronts. Summer 2027 also remains a release window, not a confirmed launch date; the announcement does not indicate immediate availability.
Update: Croak targets March 2027 with day-one Game Pass support (October 20, 2026)
Croak is coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC in March 2027, with day-one Game Pass availability and Xbox Play Anywhere support, according to IGN’s October 20 release-window trailer coverage from the ID@Xbox showcase. The reveal adds another named title to the broadcast’s lineup, although no specific launch day is given.
According to IGN, the hand-drawn 2D precision platformer follows a frog prince travelling to the Witch’s Banquet. The trailer shows platforming and boss fights, with tongue-grappling and pinball-style bouncing among the traversal mechanics. Each world features its own boss, hidden collectibles and a distinct traversal ability. An online speedrunning leaderboard lets players compete against friends and other players’ times; the description does not announce direct multiplayer races.
For Windows players, the announcement explicitly includes Xbox on PC and Play Anywhere support. However, IGN’s description does not identify other PC storefronts or specify which Game Pass plans will include access. Those subscription details remain open, while March 2027 is a release window rather than a confirmed date.
Update: Xbox confirms Shrek 2 release date and additional PC launches (October 20, 2026)
Xbox Wire’s October 20 post-show recap confirms Shrek 2 Remastered for Xbox Series X|S on November 10, 2026, replacing the earlier speculation about its showcase appearance with an official announcement. Pre-orders are open, with discounts through November 9: up to 20% for Game Pass members and 10% for non-members. The announcement does not establish PC availability or inclusion in the Game Pass catalogue.
For Windows players, the recap newly confirms ZERO PARADES: Director’s Cut for Xbox on PC and Xbox Series X|S on November 3. Mr. Magpie’s Harmless Card Game follows in early 2027 on both platforms, with Game Pass and Xbox Play Anywhere support. Rustown receives a June 30, 2027 release date for the same platforms, also supporting Play Anywhere.
Xbox Wire additionally identifies Xbox on PC versions of Mouthwashing and Chronoscript: The Endless End, and confirms Play Anywhere for Graytail. Contrary to this article’s earlier platform description, the recap also lists The Wolf Among Us Remastered for both Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One on October 29. That supersedes the earlier Xbox One-only listing, although the recap does not explain the Series version’s technical enhancements.
Update: Additional details (October 20, 2026)
Thurrott’s post-show roundup, drawing on Xbox’s recap, identifies five more showcase games omitted from the earlier updates. Love is a Roguelite is due in fall 2027 for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC; Magenta Down is planned for early 2027 on the same platforms; and Mr. Records is targeting spring 2027 for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC. Waveling Island is also slated for early 2027 across those platforms.
Red Kiss is listed as coming soon to Xbox Series X|S, with day-one Game Pass and Xbox Play Anywhere support. The roundup also narrows Vanran’s timing: contrary to the earlier broad 2027 window, Xbox now lists it for early 2027 on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC.
