LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is leaving Xbox Game Pass on October 31. Collider reports that Microsoft confirmed the Halloween departure in its latest Xbox Wire update, listing the game for removal across cloud, console and PC. Collider's headline says Xbox is "removing the biggest Star Wars game ever made." That is a catalog departure, not a delisting, and nothing in the evidence establishes "biggest" as a measurable record.

A LEGO-style space crew and spacecraft appear beside a game console displaying a release date of October 31. What Microsoft has confirmed

Xbox Wire's October 20, 2026 Game Pass update has a "Leaving October 31" section. It says the listed games are leaving the library soon and invites subscribers to save on them before they go. Nine games are on that list:

  • Day of the Tentacle Remastered
  • Dead Static Drive
  • Deep Rock Galactic
  • Full Throttle Remastered
  • Grim Fandango Remastered
  • Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris
  • LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
  • Wartales
  • Wildgate

Microsoft marks each one as Cloud, Console and PC. The departure is not limited to Xbox consoles. iGameMag also counts nine games leaving on October 31, including Deep Rock Galactic and this LEGO title. Some earlier reports counted eight, because they relied on preliminary listings. Pure Xbox reportedly spotted those listings marked "leaving soon" in Microsoft's Xbox mobile app. The Xbox Wire post is the authoritative list.

Xbox Wire gives no exact removal time or time zone. Don't assume you can play until the last minute of October 31. Finish your sessions earlier if you're counting on the subscription.

How long it was in the catalog

Xbox Wire announced on December 1, 2022 that the game would be playable and downloadable on Game Pass from December 6, 2022. Counting from that date to October 31, 2026 gives 3 years, 10 months and 25 days. That figure is our calculation, not an Xbox statement. "Nearly four years" is a fair description.

That is a long run for a subscription title. Bespin Bulletin says games tend to stay in the service for only 6 to 12 months. That is a fan-site generalization, not an official Microsoft figure. Treat it as color rather than a rule.

What this means for players

  • Game Pass is access, not ownership. After October 31, the subscription no longer includes the game.
  • The game is not vanishing from sale. Brick Fanatics notes the game will still be available to purchase. Xbox Wire's departure notice says nothing about retail delisting.
  • The Xbox Wire notice gives no discount details. It says only that you can save on departing titles. It names no price, edition or sale length, so check the Xbox Store listing yourself.
  • Save data is unaddressed. The notice doesn't say what happens to saves. Don't assume they are kept or deleted.
  • Local co-op was a selling point. Xbox's 2022 announcement highlighted two-player local co-op. It did not mention online co-op.

What it offered subscribers

Xbox's 2022 announcement described a family-friendly game with these features:

  • Players can start at the beginning of any of the three trilogies.
  • It has more than 300 unlockable characters.
  • It has more than 100 vehicles.
  • It has 23 planets to explore.

Those figures are promotional descriptions from the time of the announcement. Games.gg estimates full completion at 80 to 100 hours. That makes a six-day sprint unrealistic for completionists.

The wider catalog churn

This is one of several Game Pass exits this month. GameRant says the October 31 wave ties October for the second-highest monthly removal total of 2026. That is GameRant's own tally. Meanwhile, Xbox Wire's same post lists new arrivals through early November, including Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on October 29. Football Manager 26 is also scheduled to leave on November 10.

Why speculation should wait

Bespin Bulletin suggests the timing could reflect Xbox's new leadership declining to keep paying for the game, or Paramount, which it says recently took over Warner Bros., wanting out of the deal. That is speculation. Microsoft hasn't explained the removal, and neither has the publisher. Licensing and catalog deals are usually confidential, so reasons rarely surface publicly.

Bottom line

If you subscribe to Game Pass and have ever wanted to play through the nine films in LEGO form, play it before October 31. If you're only halfway through, buying the game or waiting for a sale are both reasonable options. Check the live Game Pass catalog and Xbox Store for current availability and pricing, since Microsoft has only announced the date and could still change the catalog.
