What's leaving, and when
Xbox Game Pass subscribers are losing another eight games on Saturday, October 31, 2026. The departures were confirmed in the "Leaving Soon" section of the Xbox app. The full list:
- Day of the Tentacle Remastered
- Dead Static Drive
- Deep Rock Galactic
- Full Throttle Remastered
- Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris
- LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
- Wartales
- Wildgate
All eight games will leave the subscription service across console, PC, and cloud. The sources disagree on the exact cutoff time. GameRant describes the removal as happening at midnight on the night of October 31. Gaming Route says Microsoft's store data for some of the titles lists the entitlement ending at 10:00 UTC on November 1. Treat the evening of October 31 as the safe deadline and don't plan to play into November 1.
The two easy completions
TrueAchievements, which tracks achievement difficulty, ranks these two as the easiest completions in the batch. Its figures are the site's own estimates, not guarantees.
| Game | Estimated length | TA completion rate | Missable achievements |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full Throttle Remastered | 2–3 hours | 42% | 16 |
| Day of the Tentacle Remastered | 2–3 hours | 36% | 28 |
TrueAchievements calls Full Throttle Remastered the easier of the two because it has fewer missable achievements. It has 16, against 28 for Day of the Tentacle. Both fit into a weekend.
A separate TrueAchievements piece from October 18 adds a caveat. It says both games have completion times of around three hours. It also says you only reach that pace for the top-tier "Mythic" achievement if you follow the game's walkthrough. So "easy" here means short and simple. It doesn't mean you can't miss anything. With 28 missables, a blind playthrough of Day of the Tentacle carries real risk of a second run.
How the rest of the batch compares
TrueAchievements puts the other six titles in higher effort tiers:
- Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris: 15–20 hours, no missables, and a 2% completion rate. The October 18 piece says the first Double Fine titles to go since the studio split from Xbox in July. Both have been on the service for about six years.
Nobody has explained the removals. Neither Microsoft nor Double Fine has said why the two remasters are leaving. It's unclear whether the studio asked for them to go, whether a contract ended, or whether licensing such as music rights played a part. TrueAchievements speculates that more Double Fine games could follow. That is an inference, not an announcement.
What to do before October 31
- Pick your target. If you only want a fast completion, choose one of the two remasters.
- Use a walkthrough from the start if you want every achievement, especially in Day of the Tentacle with its 28 missables.
- Consider buying, not just playing. Gaming Route reports both remasters are still on sale at $14.99 on the Xbox Store, as of its October 18 check. It also says Game Pass members get a discount while the games are in the library. Pure Xbox reports discounts of at least 20% on most of the batch, though that report also contained a confusing reference to an October 15 date. Check the price on your own console or PC.
- Keep earned achievements in perspective. Gaming Route says achievements stay on your profile after a game leaves. Microsoft's own documentation wasn't part of the material reviewed, so verify this if it matters to you.
Bottom line
Two games are leaving that you can finish in an afternoon or two. Day of the Tentacle and Full Throttle are short, well regarded classics, and Game Pass will stop including them at the end of the month. If you've been meaning to play them, now is the time. Use a walkthrough if you want the full achievement list.
