Aprika Business Solutions has launched three add-ons for Mission Control, its Salesforce-native project management and professional services automation (PSA) product. They are a Slack App, a Microsoft Teams App and a Mission Control MCP for AI assistants. Aprika's own blog post introduces them as three new add-on modules. Enterprise Times reports that all three are available from Monday, 5 October 2026.

For Microsoft shops, the Teams app is the headline. The MCP piece deserves a closer look from IT admins, though, because it gives AI assistants write access to project records.

What's actually new

Project records stay in Salesforce. Enterprise Times says the vendor positions the launch as an extension of Mission Control rather than a replacement. Users reach the same data from more places.

  • Slack App and Teams App: Enterprise Times says the two apps offer the same set of tools.
  • Mission Control MCP: this connects the platform to compatible AI applications through natural language.

Aprika's own pitch is about friction. Its blog says every switch of applications to find a Project and update the system adds friction. It adds that teams may spend much of the day collaborating in Slack or Microsoft Teams, and that the challenge is connecting those conversations to the project system without extra administration.

What the Teams and Slack apps do

Per Enterprise Times, the tools split into input and output.

DirectionTools
InputLog Time, Log Expense, Add Action, Add Issue, Add Risk, Add Requirement, Add Resource Request
OutputDaily Digests, Status Reports, Open Issues, Open Risks, Holidays, My Timesheet, My Team Timesheet, My Actions

The practical idea is that someone can record a risk or issue in the same place the conversation is happening. Team members can also pull their own timesheet or actions without asking a project manager. Aprika frames the benefits as less administration, improved project data and less chasing.

Neither app replaces Mission Control as the system of record. Enterprise Times claims competitors, especially Salesforce-based ones, lack a comparable Teams app. That is the publication's assessment, and I haven't verified it independently.

The MCP piece

Enterprise Times says the MCP ships with more than 50 pre-built tools. It names Claude, ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Perplexity as compatible AI applications. Reported uses include:

  • Querying project performance.
  • Finding available resources by skills and capacity.
  • Reviewing outstanding work.
  • Creating and updating records and logging time.
  • Building project plans, including Projects, Milestones, Actions, Checklist Items, and Agile Sprints and Backlogs.

Enterprise Times says a human stays in the loop, with people keeping the final call on decisions such as resource allocation.

Why admins should care

The tool list includes writes, not just reads. As Enterprise Times puts it, MCP gives AI applications write access to plans, time logs and records, so organisations need rules on which roles may act and not just ask. That is sound advice.

The reporting doesn't describe the authentication design, permission model, audit logging or approval controls. It doesn't say which AI client configurations are supported. I won't guess at any of that. Before rollout, ask Aprika:

  1. How are MCP connections authenticated and authorised?
  2. Can write actions be limited by role, or require approval before they run?
  3. What activity is logged, and where?
  4. Which AI plans and connection modes work with it?
  5. What Teams tenant and client requirements apply, and are all tools identical in Slack and Teams?

Pricing and licensing

These figures come from Enterprise Times and should be confirmed with Aprika.

Add-onMonthly billingAnnual billing
Slack App$5 per user per month$4 per user per month
Teams App$5 per user per month$4 per user per month
Mission Control MCP$39 per user per month$29 per user per month

Each app requires a Mission Control licence plus the relevant Slack or Teams licence. Licences are reportedly assignable by role, so you needn't buy add-ons for every Mission Control user. A plausible setup is MCP for project managers, resource managers and analysts, with the cheaper Teams app for everyone else. That is my reading of the licensing model, not a stated recommendation.

Evidence and context

Treat the productivity claims with care.

  • Customer claim: Simplicity+ COO Nik Panter, quoted by Enterprise Times, says the MCP made it faster to reach project information and do routine tasks. He also says it helps the team query project data for analytics. No baseline or measured time savings were given.
  • The 5.5-hour figure: Enterprise Times cites Scalable research on hours lost per employee per week to poor digital employee experiences. Scalable's blog says the research of knowledge workers found 5.5 hours lost per employee per week. That is general digital-friction research. It doesn't show that these add-ons recover that time.
  • MCP adoption: Anthropic announced on 9 December 2025 that it was donating MCP to the Linux Foundation's Agentic AI Foundation. It cited more than 10,000 active public MCP servers and adoption in products including Microsoft Copilot and Visual Studio Code. This shows MCP is mainstream. It says nothing about the quality of Aprika's implementation.
  • Security concerns: Stacklok's 2026 survey of software companies lists security as the top adoption obstacle, at 64%. The sample is software firms only, so it doesn't speak for all enterprises. It does back the case for testing governance before rollout.

Bottom line

For Teams-centric organisations running Mission Control, the Teams app is a low-cost way to log time and risks from chat. The MCP is the bigger decision. It costs roughly six to nine times as much per user and lets AI assistants change project data. Pilot it with a small group and a clear permissions test first. Be wary of the productivity claims until someone publishes measured results.
