Windows Report flagged the crowded week, and Xbox Wire’s official September 18 release roundup confirms the schedule. The lineup contains several high-profile launches—Remedy’s CONTROL Resonant, Funcom’s Dune: Awakening, EA Sports FC 27, Graveyard Keeper 2, and Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked—alongside a large concentration of smaller digital releases.
For Xbox and Windows players, the distinction between a store release, a Game Pass addition, Smart Delivery support, and Xbox Play Anywhere is more important than the headline count. A game can be arriving on Xbox without being included in a subscription, and it can be playable on Windows without automatically granting a PC license to someone who bought it on console.
September 22 is the week’s real release bottleneck
The schedule begins September 21 with Samson – A Tyndalston Story, a close-combat action game from Liquid Swords. September 22 then accounts for 10 releases: Dune: Awakening, Graveyard Keeper 2, Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked, Well Dweller, BLACKSHARD, Bubble Stomp, Gunstoppable, VORON: Raven’s Story, Fading Echo, and Rivage.
The practical headline is Dune: Awakening. Xbox Wire confirms the open-world survival game arrives September 22 for Xbox Series X|S and is included with Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass. That means a subscription covers both Xbox and Windows access, rather than requiring a separate purchase for the PC version.
Well Dweller is the other September 22 Game Pass debut. The dark fantasy Metroidvania from the creators of Crypt Custodian and Islets is listed for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, with Xbox Play Anywhere support. For subscribers who use both a console and a Windows gaming PC, it is one of the few titles in this batch that combines subscription access with Microsoft’s cross-device entitlement.
The rest of the day’s release list is more conventional storefront inventory. Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked has Xbox Play Anywhere support, so its purchase is intended to cover Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC under one Microsoft account. Fading Echo and Rivage are also marked Xbox Play Anywhere, as is Samson – A Tyndalston Story from the prior day.
That is useful, but it should not be mistaken for universal compatibility. Dune: Awakening, for example, is described by Xbox Wire as optimized for Xbox Series X|S and available through Game Pass on PC; its product badge in the weekly list does not identify it as Xbox Play Anywhere. Game Pass members can play it across the supported devices during their subscription, but buyers should check the store entitlement before assuming that a console purchase creates a permanent Windows license.
September 23 delivers fewer games, but more PC crossover
September 23 brings Garfield – Escape From Monday, Lawn Mowing Simulator 2, Bibi & Tina – Ready, Set, Ride!, BIRDCAGE, I Hear Them, Nomori, and THE BATHROOMS.
Four of those games are marked Xbox Play Anywhere in Microsoft’s own listing: Garfield – Escape From Monday, Lawn Mowing Simulator 2, Bibi & Tina – Ready, Set, Ride!, and Nomori. BIRDCAGE also has both Smart Delivery and Xbox Play Anywhere branding. The labels matter because they address separate issues: Smart Delivery selects the best supported console version, while Play Anywhere is the badge that signals a shared Xbox-console and Windows-PC purchase entitlement.
Lawn Mowing Simulator 2 is one of the clearer examples of why the badges should be read rather than skimmed. Skyhook Games’ sequel moves its professional lawn-care setting to the United States, adds equipment from Kubota, SCAG, and STIGA, and introduces revised grass technology. Its Play Anywhere listing makes it viable for players who alternate between a desktop PC and an Xbox Series console without rebuying the game.
The entries without the cross-buy badge are not necessarily absent from PC storefronts; the point is that the Xbox listing does not promise a linked Xbox-on-PC license. That may sound like a technicality, but it becomes an immediate purchasing question during a week when the Xbox Store is presenting console, PC, Game Pass, Smart Delivery, and Play Anywhere products in one release feed.
September 24 carries the largest single-day slate
September 24 is packed with 19 games: CONTROL Resonant, Alien Breed 35th Anniversary, 2048 Battles – Sylvan Sirens, Ancient Farm, Beer Manufacture Simulator, Farming Camp, Fit and Grow, Heroes of Magic & Cards, Kalanoro, Laundering Simulator, Owlen and the Starbound Mountain, PUPU’s Adventure Park, The Relic: First Guardian, Sandwalkers, Seafarer: The Ship Sim, Tiny Tanks Showdown, The Trolley Solution, Five Elements Chess, and Such a Guy.
The marquee release is CONTROL Resonant. Xbox Wire says Remedy’s sequel places Dylan Faden in a Manhattan overwhelmed by the Hiss, the Mold, and a new cosmic threat, while the Xbox store listing puts its price at $59.99. It is an Xbox Series X|S title with Xbox Play Anywhere, so one Microsoft Store purchase should apply to supported Windows PCs as well as the console version.
That support is especially significant for a third-person action game with a likely long campaign and frequent patches. Play Anywhere generally ties saved progress and ownership to the player’s Xbox account, allowing a player to change devices without treating the PC edition as a separate purchase. Xbox’s current listing makes that promise for CONTROL Resonant; it does not make the same promise for every major title arriving that week.
The September 24 group has a notable number of cross-buy releases. Alien Breed 35th Anniversary, Beer Manufacture Simulator, Farming Camp, Kalanoro, Laundering Simulator, The Relic: First Guardian, Seafarer: The Ship Sim, and Such a Guy all carry Xbox Play Anywhere listings. Alien Breed 35th Anniversary additionally includes Smart Delivery, and Microsoft lists it at $24.99.
The density of this date also explains why a raw release count is a poor guide to what most players will actually play. A cluster of low-cost puzzle games, simulators, and niche indie releases can make a calendar look enormous without creating anything like 19 separate Game Pass choices. Microsoft’s Game Pass announcement does not list these September 24 games as subscription additions.
EA Sports FC 27 arrives as a purchase, with an EA Play trial
September 25 closes the week with EA Sports FC 27, Retro Cube Slider, Used Cars Simulator, Angle Of Attack, Gods With Guns, Moonlight Chess, Roots, Runes Quest, and Vampire Blood Dynasty.
EA has set September 25, 2026 as the worldwide launch date for EA Sports FC 27 on Xbox, PC, PlayStation, and Nintendo hardware. The game adds The Grounds, a social football mode built around casual kickabouts, one-on-one play, Clubs activity, and progression. EA also says it has reworked the Manager Career transfer market and added the Football Ultimate Team Gallery.
Xbox Wire lists the Xbox Series X|S version with Smart Delivery and a free trial, but the full game is not identified in Microsoft’s September Game Pass lineup as a subscription release. The current access route for members is EA Play’s 10-hour early-access trial, which began September 18. That is a trial window, not a Game Pass announcement that grants the full FC 27 game.
Among the smaller September 25 titles, Vampire Blood Dynasty has Xbox Play Anywhere support. Angle Of Attack and Gods With Guns are marked Smart Delivery, while the remaining games in the official roundup are listed as Xbox Series X|S releases without a shared-PC-purchase designation.
Game Pass’s actual September additions are much smaller
The submitted report also pointed to Shape of Dreams and Hope in the City as Game Pass-related developments. Microsoft’s Tokyo Game Show 2026 recap confirms that Shape of Dreams is available now on Xbox Series X|S and launched day one in Game Pass, with cross-play at launch.
Hope in the City, however, is not a September Game Pass addition. Microsoft says the narrative mystery game is scheduled for Xbox and PC on November 10, 2026. The announcement did not say it will be included with Game Pass.
Microsoft’s September 15 Game Pass update identifies the concrete subscription changes surrounding this week: Dune: Awakening and Well Dweller arrive September 22; Mad King Redemption joins September 23; and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 moves into Game Pass Premium on September 25. Those are separate from the 46-game store release calendar.
The useful takeaway is simple: September 22 is the date to watch for Game Pass and Windows access, September 24 is the strongest day for Xbox Play Anywhere buyers, and September 25 belongs primarily to FC 27’s full launch. Anyone buying rather than subscribing should verify the individual product badge before checkout, because a crowded Xbox release week does not make cross-buy or Game Pass availability automatic.
