Since new my Samsung R540 laptop has had two partitions, C for programs and D for data. I decided to replace the (slow) HDD with a SSD, and in the cloning process somehow everything was put into one partition. Is there any advantage in having separate partitions for programs and data?
Assume I exported the current events into an external *.evtx log file.
Afterwards I cleaned all active event log entries.
However it could be that I want to re-check some particular events from the past (=from the exported event logfile). For´better view I would like to import them again into...

I have downloaded some movies to a thumb drive the last couple months and notice my hard drive space is decreasing quickly even though the download is going to an exterior flash drive. Is there a temporary memory place somewhere on my hard drive storing this data?
I want to delete it if so.
I need some help!!

A couple of weeks ago I got a message that I had virtually no space on my C drive (3 x 40GB SSD in RAID 0). This was a big surprise. I am running Windows 7 PRO. I removed some restore points to get back to 7 GB of free space. I then did a disk cleanup to get to 11 GB. Since then, the free...

My buddy built me a PC a while ago with Windows 7 at the time. I have Windows 10 I just don't know if it's worth to update or even how to do it?
I have a SSD that has Win7 on it and a HDD as well. If you recommend that I do upgrade, how do I do it, I'm not familiar with this. Also, should I do...

Hello everyone,
I've been trying to set up central "Documents" and "Downloads" folders for the two desktops and one laptop that I have and which are chatting away to each other in a miniature Windows network (homegroup). The reason for this was that I sometimes use one PC, sometimes another, to...
Using OneNote version 14.0.7166.5000 (32-bit). I've always been a bit confused about OneNote's file system and how to change it. I keep all my notes in the unfiled notes section--I have only about 28 notes, and they're all listed on the right side when I open OneNote. That's convenient enough...
Hi,
What I'm looking for is not to simply change the whole userdata to another drive, but to create separate drives for each users, and have their application data, my doc, etc folders on their own drives.
Sadly, from looking at environment variables though I think it's not possible.. What do...

I am trying to sync IE favorites between two PCs I own. Absolutely no luck. I found a way using a Registry hack, but results stink. I have a "master" PC that I want to sync the other PC to. And I have been able to complete a sync to the second PC, but the Favorites end up in alphabetical order...

The user experience for roaming app data is similar to a magic trick. Work is done behind the scenes to create the illusion that data is moving from place to place when, in fact, all that really happens is data gets copied and destroyed, over and over. The data itself never...
