UPDATE
Problem SOLVED...I dicovered that it was temporary internet files which were too long. Not that that fixed my problem, I was still unable to access my copied files in the new account I created, kept giving me an access denied message.
So I decided to just do a system restore instead...

Hello there.
I'm just posting here because there are these video files which the title of the file is different to the 'name' of the file which appears below the icon. Although not the end of the world, it is annoying since when I put the files on my external HDD to play through my PS3 and that...
Hi, Every time after a reboot that I try to open any of the Office 2007 programs I get this Warning Message from Online Armor. Auto Run Detected. Ask to Allow or Block. Which ever I choose the Warning Message occurs 4 times. Next time after reboot the same thing...
I'm trying to use the migrecover.exe to extract the data from a Windows Easy Transfer archive I created since using WET will not open it(Microsoft really screwed the pooch on this one uhh!). I enter the correct syntax into the command prompt and it returns "Extracting files. 100% completed...

Capturing on the Mac is extremely fast in that you just press Alt Shift 4, aim and snap, it automatically saves it with the date and time as the name of the file.
How can you automatically save what you captured right after you captured it, with the name automatically set to the date and...
I just gotta post about this, because what a dumb thing to wreck the basic search functionality on computers we paid a lot of money for. Dedicated PC user for forever - yet - I am seriously thinking I have got to bite the bullet for a mac next time which ticks me off but this is ridiculous...

I have a folder full of images that I use for my desktop background changer (from the Control Panel in Win7 Home Premium-32). It works fine, but when I change the image order in the folder itself (by putting numbers at the start of file names), that does not appear in the background changer...

Hi all
I unfortunately "hard" deleted a folder I really needed but have thankfully managed to recover almost all of the files in it (nearly 2000 of them!!). The problem now is that in...

I have got a *.zip file which contains some files with original filenames in cyrillic/russian font/letters.
However when I look at them in WinExplorer on an english Win7 then the filenames appear very odd, something like:
üá½áíá¼á ìáñ¿´.txt
How can I convert them into cyrillic/russian...
Before Win7 came along with it's neat pre-selected file name field, I used to be able to sweep in with my mouse and in one deft click-and-drag select the part of the name I'd want to change. That is almost always what I need to do - just modify the file name. I can not remember a single...
I have 2 files with different extensions, they must reference each-other with the same name but windows 7 renames the files because they are the same. How to disable this setting? Thanks.
I started talking about this in someone else's post.
But I'm about to just give up and live with it, but I thought I give it one more shot to see if anyone has any other ideas.
I have tried everything to delete this folder.

Windows 7 seems to be more "fluffy" than useful now. My main point of contention is that I am unable to select the entire file name including the extension without extra clicks. I have written a database and am in the process of assembling hyperlinks for many fields; every table has a hyperlink...

Hello
This is my first post but I have been reading the forums for a while already.
I am puzzled by how to search for special characters in W7. I have some files that start with the Greek letter µ but I don't seem to find a way to make WS recognize characters like these for searches. When I...
Dear guys
WinRar often extracts files, especially MP3 with foreign Unicode names i.e.:
01 Дорожка 1.mp3
This obviously comes from a Russian OS. This Russian name displays perfectly in Explorer. No software, not even windows explorer can open. read or rename or even delete it.
When...
