I had this machine wouldn't start, wouldn't repair, wouldn't reinstall, nothing... had a thread about it..
Well I took the drive out of that machine - we're talking Win10 - and stuck it in another machine as the system drive just to see what would happen, would it run or mainly would it cause...

Hello everyone,
I've come across a weird problem that I'd like to share with you: under certain circumstances, Diskpart and some other programs don't report the correct capacity of a hard disk.
The disk in question is a new 4 TB, or 3.64 TiB (3726 GiB), Seagate BarraCuda, initalized as a GPT...

So I have a Windows 10 partition I want to save and migrate to an m.2 ssd. This is sort of a play build so I've had 4 operating systems on the dive at various times, 2 windows and 2 Linux. I've been able to remove the Linux systems and restore the boot but when I try to remove the the windows...
Assume I bought or got a desktop/notebook with a pre-installed Windows 10 system.

Now I want to...
Morning all , I bought a new 8TB Hard-drive online , I installed Windows 10 on it and it's only showing 1.99TB on my computer . I thought windows only showed 3TB as the largest size , but the bloke in the local computer shop said windows 10 had solved that problem . (Meaning I wouldn't have to...

Hi,
This is my first post hoping to find a solution from some Windows guru.
My question affects all versions of Windows, which presumably support GPT partitions.
I have a USB stick that I partitioned using GPT scheme. I have about 4 or 5 partitions, one of them is an ESP so that I can boot...

I'm trying to install win10 to a new SSD on an intel NUC5i5RYK. I created a GPT partition table containing two equal size partitions using GPARTED (Knoppix). Then I booted to a win10 install DVD (usb device) using the default bios settings. Windows setup shows the two primary partitions...
Hi everyone, first time posting here,
I'm trying to reinstall windows on my dell xps 15 from USB, but when I go to choose a drive to install on, they are GPT and need to be MBR, according to my tech friend. However, I can't access command prompt to change this through bios, and my hard drive is...

I want to install windows 8.1 on a new SSD, but I want the SSD to MBR instead of GPT.
Before installation I changed the disk to MBR using diskpart (through the shift+f10 cmd function)
However windows automaticly changes the disk to GPT during installation.
How can I install windows 8.1 using MBR?
Greetings,
I am experiencing an issue with Windows 10 since my upgrade. Just a little info first:
I installed Win10 cleanly (I kept nothing from Win 8.1)
The SSD is a Samsung 840 EVO, set up as a GPT volume, and it is not my OS drive. I use it as my game installation location.
The issue...
