We are observing lots of ICMP traffic from a windows system. However, we are not able to identify which application is generating this traffic.
We tried to check by using "netstat -abn" however, it shows only TCP and UDP traffic, but not ICMP.

I'm having a weird issue with my network connection:
When sniffing my connection using wireshark I'm seeing a ton of duplicate packets incoming and outgoing. To check the issue I've filtered ICMP packets and ran a ping to 8.8.8.8.
What I'm seeing are 4 request packets leaving my NIC...
I follow all the post on avira support forum. But still can't solve my problem about ICMP flooded thing.

In XP you had to allow ICMP so you can ping a PC.....still the same in WIN7 ?
some are claiming you can "ping right out of the box" with no settings on the firewall being "tweaked"
