I happen to have a driver that only installs on XP. I want to be able to install it on Windows 7 x86, but it's not possible, since it doesn't recognize it.
Do you know which part of the .inf I have to modify in order to install it?

So I recently did a fresh install of windows, did NOT keep any files, wiped every drive. Upon installing Windows 10 version 1803, I installed all my drivers, and all was normal. In device manager I saw under system showing the proper things, including an Intel 300 series controller with (Z370)...
I have run sfc/scannow in win 7, and have followed instructions to run sfc at boot in command prompt, but nothing has solved the errors. i have saved the file sfcdetails.txt to desktop, and have extracted only the problematic parts and saved it in another file problems.txt

I have two programs that install by adding themselves to the context menu.
One is a rt clk on an INF file and then install.
the other has an EXE file which installs it.
The process works fine in XP and 32bit W7 --- but NOT 64bit W7.
the information IS in the SHELLEX locations in the registry...
