Okay serious issue trying to do the November update (threshold 2), I have tried both methods of updating via the windows update and the iso but neither work. I am very close to grabbing my other hard drive and using windows 7 again or just using Linux only.
Argleflargleblargle!
Assume I have prepared some Win8.1 ISOs backups from my original system with slipstreamed update 1 and eventually update 2.
Now I fetched out such an ISO archive.
How can I find out now if such a ISO already contains update 1 or even update 2?
Is there somewhere a files with history/changelog...
I extracted a Windows_8 ISO and made some changes to ei.cfg. I recomposed the sources back to a bootable UDF ISO but this ISO fails to boot in a VM. I get a blank screen during boot.
Interestingly if I extract the same ISO and recompose it back again without doing any modifications then the ISO...
I downloaded the Windows 10 ISO from the website, Because I wanted a fresh install, so I started the installation, but now, when I am done partitioning, it says it cannot install. And I DO NOT want to create a new partition table on this, it has a ton of valuable data, which is too much to...
Hi,
My Dell laptop has been misbehaving for a while so I decided the only solution was to do a fresh install. Normally I would nuke it, download the iso from Microsoft and re-install. It seems however that MS have pulled the plug on the downloads for OEM windows 7, but I do still have my...
I have a laptop that was using the Windows 10 preview that I never had time to update to the Windows 10 full version. Now when I try to start it up, it reads "Your PC/Device needs to be repaired. A component of the operating system has expired file/windows/system/32/winload.exe error...

Hey all! So I recently downloaded Windows 10 onto my computer. I done this through the icon in the bottom left corner. Once I installed it, I rebooted my computer. Now I'm stuck in the endless loop of booting up, showing the PC manufacturers logo (compaq) then restart. I have a disc with the ISO...

Some months ago, my Windows 7 PC was flagged to be updated to Windows 10, then suffered a hard drive crash. I purchased a new drive and tried to install windows 7 from disk, but since it is an update disk it wouldn't install.
My solution was to grab a Windows 8.1 Pro Preview ISO disk...

Hello. Does anyone know if Microsoft keeps updated the Windows 10 ISO that the Media Creation Tool downloads? For example, if I downloaded Windows 10 today, would the ISO itself contain updates released since Windows 10's original release date, or would the ISO be the same as what was released...
Amy one know the file size for win 10 64 bit iso. I been down load 64 but keeps installing 32 bit. Want to make sure am getting the 64 bit one. I was on win 7 64bit.
I successfully upgraded Win 8.1 to Windows 10 via Windows Update. I also created an install DVD using the Media Creation Tool. Sometime soon I would like to do a clean install using this DVD, so I can get rid of a lot of junk on my PC and start out new.
I assumed I would just put the DVD in my...

Does anyone know if Telemetry is only for the Technical / Consumer Previews? I've installed Windows 10 via the provided ISO's on the Microsoft website. These are not the Technical Preview ISO's. My question is, do these versions still contain Telemetry methods? I have nothing to hide, I'm just...
Okay, so, I had both my desktop and my laptop (both running 7 Ultimate) registered for the free upgrade to 10; confirmed and everything.
It didn't seem like the background download was coming through (I read where it's supposed to be stored, and checked, and the folder was there but was only...

Hello all
I today downloaded the Win10 ISO with Microsoft's "create installation media" tool. I then extracted that ISO to my USB drive and used it to upgrade my activated 8.1 installation. It did not ask for any key during the upgrade process.
Now, after installlation I cannot activate the...

OK. I just built a new computer last month. Did the usuals. SSD for boot drive. 4TB worth of storage so little more than Win 7 on the boot drive. If the Win 10 upgrade hoses the boot drive it's no big deal to start again. Everything important is already on other drives.
Now on to my stupid...
