    Windows 7 Desktops icons have moved when restarting

    How on earth do I prevent my startup desktop icons from moving on each reboot? The icons all stay in the same area of the screen but randomly change positions. I have tried several things as suggested by a google search but non seem to work. Is there a definitive fix to stop this behaviour?

    When I click on a desktop icon the window opens either on the left side or the right side of the screen.     Windows 7 Desktop icons move after each boot/reboot

    Ever since installing Windows 7 my desktop icons have move by themselves. They 'shift' one position each time I boot or reboot.
