Microsoft’s Windows 11 is continually evolving, unveiling feature updates at a pace that even the most seasoned Windows enthusiasts can find dizzying. Yet, in recent months, a fascinating (and, to many, frustrating) trend has emerged: a class of highly desired features—some offering genuine user...

Microsoft’s recent move to restrict its C/C++ extension for Visual Studio Code (VS Code) exclusively to its first-party products has stirred significant concern and debate throughout the developer community. As of version 1.24.5 released on April 3, 2025, the extension now refuses to work on...

Can anyone advise a program for monitoring installed software that tries to access the internet? Firewall in interactive mode can do this too of course, or Task Manager too, I'm looking for something specialised, with logging or statistics etc.
Thanks for the tips
Peter
Hi All,
Since remote assistance/control programs are not malware, but are used by scammers at times to set up unattended access to victims' computers, does anyone know of a scanner that will look for remote assistance programs? (They don't always show up in Programs and Features).
Many...
Hi all, I want only custom programs I set to be able to connect to internet, no other programs, even automatically connecting programs and so on. Can I handle it with windows firewall? otherwise recommend me a free program for doing that.
Thanks in advance!
In another post someone asked the question: How to permanently remove/ban programs from the Start Menu Recent List? (Since manually deleting them will only get them back on once the program is started again.) The sole answer gave a suggestion to "switch the feature off". This answer though...

Has anyone any ideas?
I've discovered another idiotic effect of a form of "late binding" (the dumbest development idea of all time).
In short, if a user wants to mute Windows Sounds to listen to some music (for example, Windows Media Player), then every other program on the system that has sound feedback enabled...

Hi there good ones.
As i allready know that you all have given me great help in the past posts and questions. I have a real big problem, well for me anyway. I have installed Windows Vista Ultimate OEM on my HP Pavillion M7350 Home pc. It all went fine, put office 2007 onto it and fine. I then...
