How do you recover data/repair from a drive failure in Windows 10 Storage Spaces?
I have 4X 4TB drives configured as RAID 1 (mirroring). I assumed that meant that a copy of the data was also stored on the other drives since only 8TB of the 16TB is available. I ID'd the failing drive and...
My Z600 PC has now slowed down. I suspect through lack of maintenance. I downloaded tune up software, but it stops halfway through. I have quite a large movie collection on the internal hard drives, (Set up in raid 5) (c drive and d drive) I Tried to add a new external HDD with a view of cutting...

I see a RAID 5 option in the disk manager in my Windows 10 pro 64bit os but it's greyed out , but I also see if could do a Parity RAID in storage space which it will allow me to do. So I'm curious why RAID 5 is greyed out and is there an advantage to getting RAID 5 to work vs Parity, which I...

Thanks to my discovery of this forum my video server is well on its way to being set-up (Thanks to Neemobeer). My next question has to do with setting up a RAID 5 array. As I understand RAID it provides some level of data redundancy and a higher read speed than a plain old JBOD (spanning)...

An answer to this question may clear up my confusion: Can the C: drive be part of a pool, having all drives (including the c: drive) look like 1 drive? If so, how do I do that? I created a storage space, but it made me set it up as drive D:, and I see no way to combine it with C:.
To clarify...

I have 4x2TB external hard drives in a raid5 configuration, I converted it to GPT disk using Disk Magagement in Windows 7. It showed basic disk, NTFS, 1 partition, 5.40TB, which is normal. It seemed pretty well at first. But after copying files >2TB to this drive, some files were lost and cann't...

Ok,
So I put together a new HTPC and purchased 4 2TB drives which gave me a total of 6 TB after setting them up as RAID 5. I created two volumes from that RAID, one is 2 TB and the other is 4TB.
Windows 7 is currently installed on the 2TB volume, though it only occupies about 17Gb.
I...

All,
Im trying to setup a Soft RAID 5 on my Win7RC install. Disk Manager hates me, it takes forever to connect to the Virtual Disk Service, and then it sits there and never loads the disk information.
When and if it ever loads I cannot create a RAID 5 set even though I have upgraded by 3 500...
