Hello everybody,
I need to set permission on a shared folder on a remote computer on my network. In the said action, I need to add a local user of that computer to the user list. I know that computer's local users' names but cannot add them. Looks like I don't have permission from that computer...
I'm a professional Windows user and technician, but I hate Win8 & 10, so I've never had either on my own devices to get familiar with...until Dec. 2018.
I have a Lenovo laptop running Windows 10 Home x64. I have disabled all telemetry user settings, added the "AllowTelemetry" registry entry...

I need someone remote to run a command and tell me what hardware he has on his computer; As he is barely computer-literate, I need the simplest...

Today we live in a multi-device world, and the way we use them spans different platforms and form factors: We read the morning news on our tablets, check email during the morning commute on our phones and at work on our desktop PCs. And at night, we watch movies on our home media...
Here is my issue and I hope that anyone can help.
We have a local domain running through a windows 2012 server. We have migrated our quick books to an external company. They are also running 2012.

At Build 2016, Microsoft introduced to the world the Windows Subsystem for Linux (Beta) [WSL], which enables developers to run native Ubuntu user-mode console binaries through the Bash shell in Windows 10. If you’re in the Windows Insider program, you’ve had the opportunity to try out this...

Hello all,
I've had the idea to use an old laptop as a Netflix machine for my mother, and I'd like to be able to hook up a Microsoft MCE remote and let her navigate the software with that. She used to use this laptop, but switched over to a Windows 10 tablet when the thing began failing in...

If you want it to remote into an outside sever you need to tell your firewall to butt out... no problem right, just run your wsf again except the script is not configured for Windows X and will not run.
Just a heads up, you might want to hold off on...
