Ok, So I've been having the Ethernet disconnecting. I often was when I had multiple applications running at a time, getting Webpages/Streaming/downloading from the net. Haven't had a chance to try LAN yet. so dunno if that would have done it too. But the Ethernet would disconnect, In the Start...

Hi
I am running Windows 7 on an average machine, and it runs great. The only time it gets slow is when it's loading the login screen. Is there a more basic login screen like XP had where you type the username in instead?
ok, so I updated yesterday (1 critical update i had been delaying). It asks me to reboot and I comply. I get back into Windows and login everything looks okay. Today I turn my laptop back on, as it loads (i see the little windows logo glowing) I get a BSOD with no specific file or anything, but...

I have a GeForce 8400M GS in my notebook (see full specs in sig) and when I install RC1 I automatically download the 181.71 driver which I remember was getting a lot of hype a few months ago. It works pretty well. Then I went to the Nvidia website and checked for any newer drivers for my GPU and...

Hi
I am so far impressed with W7 (its stayed on my machine alot longer than vista did and I actually am beginning to use it more than my XP install) however now I am trying to remove the junk the MS insists on installing by using the Turn off windows features options.
I can uncheck the items...
After the upgrade from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 RC my disc usage went from 172 to 177. Is this to be expected? Is it because I did an upgrade? Or is Win7 Premium that much larger? Is there a folder hiding somewhere with installation or rollback files that could at some point be deleted...
Hi everyone,
I've been using Windows 7 Beta (6.1.7000) for a while and I haven't had any problems getting programs to install and run, until now. I recently tried to install Autodesk Inventor 2010 and the installation failed 2/3 of the way through with this error:
The error is fatal so the...
Hi there,
This new problem I have started facing after I rolled back Kaspersky WKS from build 1071 to build 1015.
WMP has completely stopped working. It just does not open up. I tried exiting the KAV but still no effect.
VLC and Media player classic seems to be working fine. I do not know what...
Hi all,
I had build 7000 and just got 7057 the other day and attempted to upgrade. This worked from vista to 7000 earlier. Everything went fine, a little bit slow, but fine right up until it was ready to start my computer for the first time. It then said the "Setup will continue after your...
I'm a casual user of the internet and enjoy working with Beta's and I'm tempted to install W7 and get rid of my Vista Home Premium and stick with 7 until the release.....is this an OK move or will I regret it? I'm assuming I could roll back and reinstall Vista and of course I would back up my...
When Windows 7 Beta expires in August, will there be a way to return to Vista? I noticed when installing the beta a folder called "Windows.old" was created. I assume this contains all the needed Vista system files. If you can't go back, what's the point of this folder?
the installation alltogether goes really smoothly, it takes about 1.5hrs to do the upgrade from vista.
then about 2 mins into the completing upgrade stage it blue screens and a STOP: 0x000000131 error will come up, then reboot, and start the rollback process to vista.
anyone have any ideas why...
You'd think I'd know this one by now, considering the EXACT same thing happened to me last year.
Today I installed some updates to Vista. As soon as that was done, my sound went out.
I tried updating my drivers, it said they were already up to date. So I tried doing the rollback, but the...
Maybe an exaggeration, but a recent windows update and now I have no sound, I have the report 'No audio output device installed ', downloaded from both manufacturers site and M$, and no go, it still fails to install. Rolling back doesn't work either. The sound device on my HP530 notebook is...
