About this tag
The RSS tag on WindowsForum.com covers a range of topics where RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is used for content distribution, feed reading, and system notifications. Discussions include building a custom Chrome new tab dashboard that parses RSS feeds for headlines, CISA's shift to using RSS feeds for cybersecurity alerts, and a Windows 8.1 blog reader app that consumes Channel9 RSS feeds. Additionally, RSS appears in troubleshooting contexts, such as disabling RSS feeds in Outlook 2010 to resolve send/receive errors. The tag also touches on RSS in the context of virtualization and networking, specifically Receive Side Scaling (RSS) in QEMU and Linux, where vulnerabilities like CVE-2024-6505 and CVE-2024-46834 can lead to denial-of-service conditions.
