I was wondering if anyone currently allowed to have a copy of Win 7 was getting an upgrade versions or just full versions. It would be nice if folks using an upgrade version of the OS would post their experiences and confirm or refute some of the rumors about the install process.
Taken from the excellent GameTrailers.com :

Filed under: Hardware Microsoft has already announced that October 22 is the big launch day for their Windows 7 OS, but what about when the final retail version of the software "goes gold" (meaning that the product is done and will be pressed into disks for manufacturing)? Rumors are popping up...

So, I heard from someone who usually has access to builds that there will be another x64 build coming tomorrow. All I know so far is that it is not 7231, but probably a bit later than that. I have no idea yet if it will be ISO or VHD, we'll just have to wait and see.
As I commented in a previous thread....
Well, An IT System Admin friend of mine had a 'teleconference' with MS on the subject of Win7 the other day; when I was talking with him, he asked me if there was anything I wanted to know about Win7? I ( in a 'tongue-in-cheek' mode) said yeah, ask them...

The Russian site Link Removed - Invalid URL has posted a Windows 7 SP1 build labeled 7138.0.090523-xxxx-winmain_win7xxx_sp1_x. I had no idea they started compiling SP1 builds so early and I'm kind-of at a loss as to why, but that's what happens when you don't work...
Microsoft names Windows 7 RC1 dates â€Ã‚¢ The Register :D
EDIT: I guess I this topic would be more appropriate in the "Rumors and News" forum. I didn't think to check all the forum catagories before posting.
Paul Thurott seems to think one of the two major Windows 7 announcements is a new Windows 7 UI, the second is probaly the OS's release date. Link Removed - Invalid URL .

According to SoLoR, who is pretty accurate usually, and torrents.ru, the woman who leaked the 7068 build now has her hands on 7077 in both flavors, and is planning on leaking them tonight. Apparently right now she is just deciding on which version to...
Hi guys.
What is the REAL true status of build 7048. Reading some of the various rumours apparently Microsoft hasn't even STARTED on 7048.
Now if it's a FAKE it's got to be a really good one -- I doubt whether any even experienced hacker could integrate the proper final version if IE8 into the...
So, according to Ars Technica, the latest build is 7041 and work on the RC build hasn't even begun yet. :frown:
