Hi all. This is probably a newbie type question, but as much as I've worked with computers over the years, I've just never done this. Plus I'm wondering if Windows 7 has capabilities that might make this easier.
I recently home-built a new computer for my parents (Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM...

I am using a old motherboard which doesnt have a native SATA driver on the chipset (I think).
When I installed WinXP on this computer I had to either use the press F2 (or was it F7) or something when installation, and have the driver on a floppy driver. Thats why I have a old 20 GB PATA disk...

Every time I boot up my PC it tells me invalid system disk, please insert system disk and try again. I always have to use the windows 7 DVD to repair my OS. Does any one know the cause of this?
I am having a really difficult time "renaming" or "labeling" hard disk drives (ide) and (sata) and (usb)
When I right click the drive and choose rename, it does nothing after I type the new name in, I also have tried to go into Disk Management to label them, same efffect, does nothing. (also...

Okay, read through many dual boot threads here but none seem to be quite like my problem.
My system drive failed in a media center PC I have built. I used my XP MCE 2005 install CD to create a new system drive, on a 1TB disc which had formerly been reserved for movies only. There was still...

I have ONE hard drive to work with here (not counting the fact that I'm on another computer to type this up)
I can partition/format that hard drive ANY way required.

Hi,
I have a computer with two physical sata drives on one of which is a 32 bit version of XP. I had Vista on the second untill this past weekend when I pulled it to install the new Windows 7 beta 64 bits. Before installing I used Partition Magic to re-partition and format. All went well with...
Yesterday I finally managed to upgrade from XP to Vista Ultimate after a few problems I encountered along the way. Today I decided to uninstall some programs that I no longer needed. So I first started uninstalling Corel Paint Shop Pro X. Halfway through the uninstallation process I got the BSOD...
