I am trying to control which thumbnails display on folder icons in my Pictures library. Right now, all of the folder icons show thumbnails of 2 pictures. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to which 2 pictures are chosen (obviously that is not true, it just seems that way). I assumed that...
I used to buy “Balance Bars”. I bought them for years. Then one day I noticed their proud announcement of a “bold new look”. That new look went beyond the box. The US RDA percentage of every vitamin and mineral went from 25% to 15%. They became a nutrition bar that, in its “new and improved”...

Is there a way to do that on Windows 7 that makes Explorer generates thumbs for folders without scrolling through them?
I tried something like a search (*.jpg) on the main folder but then only visible images had thumbs generated.
Thanks a lot.
Greetings. I have a problem with the display of thumbnails of videos, especially AVIs and MPGs. Apparently mkv, 3gp and mp4 display fine. I have attached an example of what's showing.

This is a company PC with desktop settings like Windows XP I used to for a few years. I explored the options and changed the desktop background when some of the settings changed that I'd like to revert back.

Unlike everybody else here, I have a different problem with COM Surrogate. I noticed something wasn't right when I got random freeze-ups playing audiosurf which is sensitive to CPU usage. I opened task manager and saw about every 15 seconds, there is a spike in the CPU usage. I checked the...

When I look at the thumbnails of my jpgs, they
are grayed and harder to work with. I would like
to make them just a normal small image of the original.
They are not corrupted when I double-click on them,
they launch the image viewer and look fine. I'm using
Windows 7 with automatic updates.
Using Word 7 and choosing pics to include in document.
How do I change the VIEW of my pictures? It currently shows the name of the jpeg only. How do I change it all over to thumbnail of the pictures?
From a fresh start up of the computer, I can get my thumbnails to generate any where on my computer, the NAS, or the USB attached to the NAS. However, after a short period (not specific, can be 5 mins or 30 mins), the USB drive attached to the NAS will no longer generate thumbnails, however...

Hi
Windows 8 has stopped showing thumbnails, or a preview of images in the preview window.
It was working fine a couple of weeks ago when I was working on a job with a lot of pics in it.
I did a system restore back to June 29 and it didn't make any difference.
I've checked to see that...

Bing can boast the inclusion of Encyclopaedia Britannica which I guess can't be half bad.. :) I must admit that the results do look better with more thumbnails and information carried onscreen.

I didn't used to have this problem before. For some unknown reason, all my video files have a separate PNG file next to it with a picture of the thumbnail. I don't remember changing any viewing options that may have triggered this. Anybody know how to fix this?

I have 3 PDF files stored on my desktop; they've been there for months. I use the newest version of Foxit Reader and have for years. In the middle of last week the icons for those 3 files changed from the generic PDF file page icon Link Removed to mini thumbnails of the pages themselves. I did...
Vista 'organisation' bar in Windows 7's explorer?
I've just got a Windows 7 64 bit laptop to go out and about with, but one of the main features that I miss off my main Vista desktop is this bar, which is very much like the one that you get in the 'details' view in Windows 7. The differences...
