Hi,
This is my first day with Windows 11 and I'm already having a lot of trouble with a few niche things that are pretty important to my workflow.
First: if I open the Photos app, for example, the first window opens where I want it to, but any subsequent photos I open while the first is open...
Not the place... The image file on the Hard Drive. When I look for how to change the Lock Screen image, what I get is information for how to change the Desktop Wallpaper. I don't understand why Microsoft doesn't make a clearer distinction between them as these are two entirely different things...

Is it possible to force Winexplorer to have the files in the same place when I reopen the same window when I put them in my own order before? I tried it according to this tutorial - How To Disable Auto Arrange In Folders On Windows 10, but it only works 50% - after reopening the same folder, the...
Hi,
I play World of Warcraft and I like the character to be close to the left side of the screen. If I put it in windowed mode and slide it off to where I want to have it, it affects the game's camera. Is there a way to remove one side of the displayed portion of a window? I use Windows 7.
I would like to rename a network media device. I'm not quite sure what this is when I see it in File Explorer but here it is under Networks.
How do I change the name from Simone's Media to something else? Clicking on it does not provide a means to do so.
Hi,
I occasionally get an untitled menu in the top left of my screen wanting me to proceed or skip. I have been skipping until today when I accidentally proceeded. I ended up with the attached menu.
What is it? And how do I get rid of it. Is it rogue software?

Alan Liddle
Where are the key combinations you assign for a shortcut to start a program stored? For instance if I go to the properties of a program icon and assign Ctrl-Alt-S as a shortcut, where in the registry is it stored? I have one, and only one program the shortcut key stopped working. If I try to...
I am finally looking for a replacement for the ancient Windows Live Mail program and I am completely amazed that apparently email client programs have gotten so much WORSE in the last decade.

I would like to get the default win10 behaviour, where the taskbar buttons are all to the left, and open windows show up separately to the right. Right now, when a window associated with a button is open, the button changes to a large window button, and other program icons move to the right. I...
When i clicked Personalize ->Start and Use Start full Screen that is a great thing for appearance but i'd like to remove pinned tiles icon on the left . I'd like to see all apps when i pressed Windows icon on my keyboard. How i can do that ? I'm new in this form i hope i could expressed myself...
I'm running the latest version of Windows 11. I run a few Rainmeter Gadgets too. Particularly the CPU Usage gadget. I have my computer set up to turn off the display after a certain amount of time. Then the display turns back on when I move the mouse.
Lately when it starts back up the CPU...

I want to add a background to my Full screen start window/Tiles window. Not lockscreen, not desktop. The start screen. Like in W8. Help. All i can change is colors.
I sometimes watch videos like deleting the program files folder, setting date to crazy big values and breaking win 11/10 every other possible way. In many cases modern windows starts slowly transforming into win 7/XP. Like alt-tab menu from XP, task manager from 7 and other weird things
I wonder...

Hi everybody!
I just got a brand new Dell XPS 8950 with preinstalled W11.
At first I thought I am seeing things, but now I know it for sure: clicking the Start button (the left on the bottom), and then clicking the On/Off power symbol on the bottom right does... nothing! I have to click it again...
Hello,
Is there any way to disable the giant and unnecessary "ribbon" (I think it's called that at least) in windows 11? In win 10 there is a little arrow to the top right which you can minimize it with, and there are also tools that let you disable it completely, but I can't find anything at...
