window size

Probably simple but being a rookie; Bought a new computer with Win7 - on old XP computer, when I opened an IE shortcut to go to a specific website, the window opened maximized automatically. Now it opens in a small window. I can't figure out how to make it open maximized. I created a shortcut...

...does not retain its settings. Previously ie8 window size settings were retained after closing the browser then reopening. Having reinstalled due to a driver error - clean reinstall - the settings are not retained, instead an earlier, and presumably default, sized window opens. Clues...

Installed 7 yesterday. All went well. This am window would only open to half size. In Vista we could fix this by opening a link by right click and asking the link be opended in a new window and then X it out. It would then recall that size as the default. This does not seem to work in 7...

Although this is NOT a new thread, I am re-writing this in the hope that someone may inform me how I can open EVERY video file I click on "TO A LARGE WINDOW, AND NOT A SMALL ONE WHICH I HAVE TO STRETCH EACH TIME TO SEE THE CLIP OR MOVIE" :confused::confused::confused::confused:

For the life of me I can't figure this out. I want to have my windows open in the maximized configuration. I have tried to open a window (like Windows Explorer) and then pull the corners to enlarge it. After I do this and get out of that area I restart it and the window wasn't saved in the...

Is there some voodoo I need to make the windows in vista stay the same size and be in the same position? My computer seems to stick ok, but control panel, recycle bin, etc, always seems to go back to a small little window.
