You make sense, whoosh, as he does who gives the message. Not a pro in history, I guess weapons on popular level were introduced in America, through revolvers and so on, although most people there were actually unarmed too, except for hunting and possible self protection. Like us, in Finland, we have no culture of carrying weapons - we've just had knives and axes, mainly used for work; occasional manslaughter has been... occasional.

But the concept of everyone carrying weapons in order to meet everyone in battle... a myth, I think.
