Need help on determining if my Western Digital 2TB hard drive is compatible with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I have a HTPC with 5.5TB in total. One of my drives is a WD 2TB GP drive which after completing a fresh install of Windows 7, I can no longer detect the drive. I've reinstall all MB drivers and even downloaded WD's Data Lifgaurd Tools (this solved the problem in XP for me before). Oh, and using Windows add hardware utility did not work either. Any help with this would be appreciated!

Thank you!

Maybe more information about your complete drive setup, or a Disk management snipit would help us.

If I remember right, 2 TB is the limit for a MBR drive.

Saltgrass,

Thank you! You got me thinking and I remembered I installed a 4 channel PCIe SATA controller card as I was running out of SATA connections on my motherboard. Windows 7 didn't have generic drivers so I just had to go dig up install disk. Works perfectly now.
