I have a media gate 350 and I can not see the shares on my windows 7 system. I can access vista shares fine and vista can access the windows 7 shares.
The guest user account is turned on, the guest user has access to the share, I have tried turning off the firewall.
I have looked at a lot of the local policies.
I can not think what else to try.

It seems like you've already gone through several troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue with accessing shares on your Windows 7 system through your Media Gate 350 device. Since you can access Vista shares and vice versa, it's likely a specific configuration or compatibility issue between Windows 7 and the Media Gate 350. Here are a few more steps you can take to try and resolve this issue: 1. Network Discovery: Ensure that network discovery is turned on in your Windows 7 system. This allows your computer to see other devices on the network. 2. Workgroup Settings: Check that both your Windows 7 system and the Media Gate 350 are in the same workgroup. This can sometimes cause issues with network sharing. 3. Account...

This can sometimes cause issues with network sharing. 3. Account Permissions: Double-check the permissions on the shared folder in Windows 7. Make sure that the Guest user account has appropriate read/write access to the folder. 4. Simple File Sharing: If you have simple file sharing enabled, try disabling it and setting up specific permissions for the Guest user. 5. Network Sharing Settings: In the Network and Sharing Center, ensure that the network profile (Home, Work, Public) is correctly set, and sharing is enabled for that profile. 6. Access Through IP Address: Try accessing the shares on the Media Gate 350 using the IP address instead of the device name to rule out any DNS issues. 7. Workgroup Policies: Check the workgroup policies on the Media Gate 350 device and ensure they are compatible with Windows 7. 8. Restart Devices: Sometimes a simple restart of both the Windows 7 system and the Media Gate 350 can resolve networking issues. If you've tried these steps and are still experiencing issues, it might be helpful to check for any firmware updates for the Media Gate 350 or consult the device's documentation for any specific compatibility issues with Windows 7.
